Chapter 58 - Deliberately difficult

Logan Hunter's refusal to listen made everyone grit their teeth in anger. At that moment, the students didn't even have a chance to persuade or stop him. Whenever someone tried to approach, a stone from Amelia would come flying accurately, and no one wanted to be falsely implicated.

"Ah!" Quinn Cooper screamed, and her legs gave out as she fell to her knees in front of Amelia. Two small stones rolled noisily in front of her, and her knees were throbbing with pain. She lifted her head slightly and saw Amelia, who had a beautiful face like a fairy, looking down at her with contempt and disdain for all living beings.

The humiliation of being bruised all over and in such a shameful position made Quinn Cooper almost collapse. She couldn't help it anymore and burst into tears, not caring about pretending to be innocent or whether her crying was graceful or not. Her tears and snot flowed together and were especially nauseating.

Amelia, who had a germaphobic condition, found it a little disgusting and stopped throwing stones. She coldly turned her gaze away from Quinn Cooper, who was kneeling on the ground, and said, "That's enough. This time you can let the Cooper family deal with me. But I have to remind you that I have a bad temper. In this mountain, it's best not to provoke me, and it's best to stay away from me."

Quinn Cooper shrank back, as if frightened, and knelt on the ground crying, but she dared not be disrespectful again. Seeing Amelia's calm expression, she had no doubt that this kind of outcome would happen again if she approached her, and with Logan Hunter around, she would not gain any benefits.

Amelia was satisfied. Indeed, reasoning with some people was useless. Quinn Cooper cried for a while before standing up, having been hit several times on her legs, and limped. But facing Quinn Cooper's pitiful face, the boys who had been pleasing her before unconsciously looked away and didn't help her up.

Everyone's gaze towards Amelia was a little strange. How could she be so arrogant and confident? Why wasn't she afraid of the Cooper family? Of course, they didn't know that in her previous life, Amelia was the truly arrogant and domineering one, and Tyler was a coward who always gave in.

After hitting Quinn Cooper, Amelia remained seated, not moving her body even slightly and had no intention of standing up. She was determined to change her route and cut ties with these people who had abandoned her map. If they had come back now, well, what did it have to do with her!

Wyatt Parker had been watching Amelia from the beginning, but he didn't expect that the cold and disdainful gaze he had anticipated from her never came. She had never even looked at him, not even a glance from the corner of her eye, completely ignoring him, and this made Wyatt Parker even more uncomfortable.

"Enough, stop making a scene, let's regroup and continue forward," Wyatt Parker said, taking on the role of the captain.

Quinn Cooper's crying softened a bit, but Amelia didn't buy it and ignored her. The atmosphere became more awkward, and everyone was at a loss for words.

Wyatt Parker reluctantly said, "Amelia, we should leave now." As the team leader, he expected Amelia to give him some face.

But the response he got was, "It's you, not us," coldly said by Amelia. Wyatt was left speechless. She had drawn a clear line between them, and even if they caught up, Amelia had no intention of walking with them. Where could they go on their own, change the route and wander around? Who would dare to try that?

Regret flooded Wyatt's heart. He remembered that Amelia had been kind to him when they first entered the mountains. But her icy gaze now made it clear that he had completely offended her. He was the class monitor, and he had slowed down for Amelia before. Why couldn't she be grateful? However, he didn't think about the fact that he had deliberately changed the route and left Amelia behind.

Wyatt glared at Amelia with embarrassment and anger and said, "Everyone, take a rest and have something to eat before we set off again." Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Some students lit a fire and started roasting wolf meat. There were a lot of people in the team, and there wasn't much left of the wolf that Wyatt Parker and his group had taken away. The students roasting the meat looked at Logan Hunter's hands and saw that he still had a lot of meat left. They decided to roast all the remaining meat so they could have more energy to continue the journey.

As the flames crackled and the smoke rose, the smell of the roasting meat made people cough, but it also made them even more hungry. Just then, Amelia stood up from a large rock and said, "Logan Hunter, let's go." She had rested enough and eaten something, so it was time to go.

Logan Hunter didn't object to Amelia's decision and immediately stood up to pack his bag. The two of them were about to leave, even though Wyatt Parker's group had just started the fire, and the wolf meat was only half-cooked.

"Amelia... you're going too far!" Wyatt angrily exclaimed. But Amelia just snorted and ignored him. She took the stick Logan Hunter handed her and started walking away.

Everyone was stunned. One girl who had said some bad things about Amelia to Quinn Cooper earlier couldn't help but say, "Amelia, wait! We've finally caught up with you. Can't you have a sense of teamwork and act together with everyone?"

"Why should we act together? Didn't we all go our separate ways before?" Amelia sarcastically replied, referring to how they had all left her behind before without any consideration for teamwork.

"But... but..." This girl is not coming out.

"But they don't know the route. What else can they do if they don't go with Amelia?"

Wyatt Parker was the first to recover, he swallowed the anger and looked at Amelia's back with an ugly face. "Quiet, pack up and catch up!"

At that moment, everyone felt very suffocated. They suddenly realized that Amelia was not a burden anymore. They needed her help! They quickly packed up the unfamiliar wolf meat and silently followed Amelia.

It was slow, really slow. Amelia's pace was probably not even faster than that of a three-year-old child. It made people anxious, but no one dared to say anything, afraid that if Amelia did not agree, she would stop walking.

Not long after they had started walking, Amelia and Logan Hunter stopped to rest again. Logan Hunter looked at Amelia's calm face, her pale face without a trace of blood, and became increasingly worried.

Wyatt Parker thought Amelia was deliberately messing with them, but he dared not say anything out of anger.

There was no choice but to stop and rest with her, quickly grilling and eating the unfamiliar wolf head, afraid that Amelia would suddenly set off again and leave them feeling suffocated.
