Chapter 49 - Abandoning Amelia

Wyatt Parker glanced at the fainting Amelia and frowned, "Alright, it's getting dark, let's set up camp here."

Growing more impatient, someone became increasingly dissatisfied. It wasn't fully dark yet, why were they settling down already? Shouldn't they be racing against time and traveling through the night?

"Captain, should we keep going a little further and rest later?" someone questioned.

"Traveling in the dark is too dangerous. I think you've forgotten that this is a wilderness survival training, not a mountain crossing exercise. The instructors said it would take three days and two nights, and I don't think we can leave this mountain too early. We need to ensure safety and stamina to face the challenges ahead."

Wyatt Parker frowned, thinking that leading a team was not a good job. It was troublesome and had no real benefits.

The strong boys set up the tents, the girls gathered dry wood nearby, someone was responsible for making the fire. Fortunately, the instructors had provided them with a lighter in their backpacks, otherwise they would have had to resort to the most primitive method of starting a fire.

Under the glow of the fire, everyone was in a heavy mood because they didn't have enough food. Even if they tried to save as much as possible, it was still not enough.

"Captain, I...I have a suggestion." A dark-skinned boy who had been leading the way up front spoke up, his face slightly red.

"You may speak," Wyatt Parker nodded.

"I think...Amelia seriously slowed down our retreat and our team is moving too slowly, always falling behind." The boy spoke nervously, glancing at the other classmates for support before calming down.

Amelia listened to his words, her eyebrows raised. She knew that what he said was true. Her slow pace had indeed affected the entire team's speed.

"What do you mean by that?" Wyatt Parker whispered.

The boy secretly glanced at Amelia, his dark face instantly turning red with a sense of guilt. He suddenly found it difficult to say what he wanted to say.

His classmate behind him spat and took over the conversation, saying, "We believe that we should abandon weaker members. Look at her feet, they're injured. She doesn't have the stamina to complete the task. It's better to let Amelia fire the signal gun herself!"

At this point, everyone couldn't help but hold their breath. Once the signal gun was fired, it represented failure, representing elimination.

At the moment, no one opposed this proposal. Almost everyone had thought about this problem, but no one had brought it up until this simple-looking big guy spoke out his thoughts.

Yes, in the absolutely cruel survival rule, only strength and beauty are not useful at this time.

Amelia listened indifferently, sitting exhausted on a rock, her legs trembling constantly.

Even with several layers of soft cushions added, she had already worn out many blisters on her feet. She calmly took out a silver needle, one by one, puncturing them and then applying ointment under the light of the bonfire.

After finishing, she looked up at the male student who spoke and asked calmly, "Do you think you can win without me?"

"This... this!" The dark-skinned male student was a bit stuttered. This matter was not kind to begin with. Faced with Amelia's questioning, he felt even more guilty.

Other classmates spoke up one after another.

"I also think we should give up Amelia. After all, if we abandon her alone, our group should be able to get a good ranking!"

"I agree too!"

"Me too..."

Amelia listened quietly. She remained indifferent, as calm as if the person who was going to be abandoned was not her.

"No one is qualified to decide my elimination," Amelia said coldly.

In a group of eighteen people, at this moment, more than half of them agreed with this proposal.

It wasn't that Amelia was so unlikable, but they all thought that this test was important, and it was related to whether they could establish themselves at Saint Hua.

"I think this proposal is inappropriate!" Wyatt Parker spoke out in opposition.
