Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 Public Classroom

After helping Sain move the specimens back to the dorm, Tianti left slowly, constantly turning back to remind Sain of something.

However, faced with Sain's indifferent expression and emotionless tone, Tianti ultimately didn't dare to continue staying.

Once Tianti left, Sain shook his head.

The apprentice specimens on the experimental table were enough to last for two months without rotting.

After spending the morning on anatomy studies, Sain walked to his bed and started flipping through one of the five magic books given to him by his mentor, Mosido.

"Introduction to Wizarding World Continental Basics" was the thickest and largest book that Sain had come into contact with so far.

Apart from introducing some commonly used magical knowledge, there were many handwritten notes by Mosido in the margins of several paragraphs.

Those valuable and commonly used magical knowledge naturally was one of Sain's main concerns.

In addition to that, Sain was also extremely interested in the customs and practices introduced in this magic book about the Wizarding World and the wizarding continent.

"Is the world we live in called the Wizarding World?" Sain wondered as he flipped through the book.

"Also, where is Shadowy Territory in the Wizarding World? Where is my home located?"

Unfortunately, this was a magic book that mainly introduced basic knowledge, and Sain couldn't find the answers he wanted, including the cryptic notes about the customs and practices of various regions in the Wizarding World.

It seemed like the author didn't want to reveal too much information about the Surface and other regions in the Wizarding World.

Sain could only roughly estimate that the world he lived in was larger than he had imagined.

From the notes left by his mentor Mosido, he could also sense the feeling of insignificance that his mentor had when facing the vast Wizarding World as an official magician.

Speaking of which, Sain had been in the Shadowy Territory for ten years now.

He had not seen any apprentice who could leave Mosobla City and return to the Surface.

In Sain's memory, the bright sunshine during the day and the starry night sky have been deeply imprinted in his mind since childhood.

Now, here in the Shadowy Territory, he can only look up and see the faint glow of glowstone in the underground world.

The Dark Magicians of the academy have blocked any way back to the surface, and although Sain has tried many times and searched the areas around Mosobla City, he has never found any possible path to the surface.

Every time the Dark Magicians capture fresh blood from the surface, Sain can only see the huge airship flying in the air, but he doesn't know where it comes from or how it flies.

After this airship brings in a large number of suitable children, it will disappear the next day, as if it had never appeared before. Sain is very puzzled by all of this.

Under the dim light of a magical crystal lamp, a young man is flipping through a book of magic.

When the door opens, a girl who makes Sain feel familiar and at ease walks up to him.

After Lena accompanies Sain to read five pages of the book, she says, "You should rest early, tomorrow you have other magic classes to attend."

Sain nods, closes the book in his hand, pushes it under the bed, and then embraces Lena and lies down on the bed together.

He doesn't know when the magical crystal lamp went out, and there's only the sound of rapid breathing in the darkness.

Sain whispers to Lena, "Today, Colonso Magician gave me a specimen, and the preservative fluid used on it is very special. I don't know how it was specifically prepared."

After a soft hum from Lena, she replies softly, "Hmm...I'll help you identify it tomorrow."

Lena is an advanced apprentice, and her skills and knowledge in anatomy, as well as in dark and death magic, are much higher than Sain's.

Even Sain's steady dissection technique was accumulated after countless times of learning from Lena.

Although Lena majors in fire and dark magic elements, she is also interested in other specialties that have some knowledge connections.

If Lena and Sain could truly crack the secret of Colonso Magician's anti-corrosion solution, or even just uncover a small portion of its knowledge, it would be extremely beneficial for them.

They discussed these matters during their mental and physical exchanges.

It wasn't that Lena and Sain were particularly twisted, but rather that this was the norm in the underground world.

They had become accustomed to casually mentioning death or specimens.

This marked their true adaptation to the identity of Dark Magicians and the atmosphere of the Dark Magic Academy.

It also marked their standing at the top of most apprentices in all aspects, whether it be in terms of strength, adaptability, or mentality.

Aside from Master Colonso's dissection class, Sain would attend any courses related to his interests or usefulness, such as introductory courses in alchemy, monster identification, or initial magic model construction.

Through the names of these courses, such as "introductory" or "initial," it could be seen that the knowledge imparted in these public classrooms only represented the most basic part of the magical knowledge field of the department.

This was an unavoidable fact; knowledge was priceless.

Unless one could become an apprentice of a formal Dark Magician, there would be no chance to enter the inner sanctum and truly learn and delve into the deep knowledge of a certain area mastered by the Magician.

It would be a pipe dream to expect to achieve anything significant with just the superficial knowledge imparted in these public classrooms.

In fact, the public classes are mainly aimed at the entry-level and low-level apprentices within the academy.

Intermediate apprentices, such as Sain, have already heard most of these courses in the past.

Even the formal Dark Magicians who give lectures seldom present anything new in public classes.

Additionally, given the generally cold and aloof nature of Dark Magicians, offending them could result in being killed, even for Intermediate or higher level apprentices.

However, the likelihood of misfortune befalling Intermediate apprentices is far lower than that of entry-level and low-level apprentices.

After all, the academy has cultivated them for over ten years, and Intermediate or higher level apprentices are not at the mercy of the formal Dark Magicians.

Aside from listening to these public courses as a spectator, one interesting thing for Sain is that his mentor, Mosido, teaches Fire Elemental basics and Alchemy introductory explanations.

Perhaps due to Sain's presence, Mosido often presents more in-depth new knowledge during his lectures, which results in an overflowing classroom of apprentices each time.

Sain, as Mosido's personal disciple, often serves as his assistant or class representative, standing on the podium or in front of the experimental table, learning and experiencing the mysteries of magic and truth up close.

During this time, Sain also saw Tianti, an entry-level apprentice whom he had previously interacted with.

Tianti had initiated conversations with Sain after class, and many uninformed apprentices regarded Tianti as Sain's confidant and thus did not dare to target the young apprentice.
