The thick-looking metal doors heated up and turned red. A small device, like a metal box attached to the doors, loudly beeped, the small control lights on it rapidly flashing.
The flashing and beeping were getting faster and faster as the black silhouette of the girl in her black assassin-like suit ducked down and put her hands over her ears.
The next moment a bright flash of light and heat swept through the corridors, and a massive round hole formed in the doors, its edges still red from the heat.
'No big bang? Hmm...'
The black silhouette stepped through it, her eyes scanning through the room.
She was in a small room, the walls, ceiling, and even the floor all built out of plain grey concrete.
Her eyes fell upon a single metallic data storage placed upon a singular stainless steel table. Everything looked simple and out of place inside the otherwise opulent and luxurious villa.
'What are you for? Why would someone build this entire room just for you?' She snatched it from the table and fastened it to her belt, knowing she had no time to care about useless questions.
'These who ask questions often don't live long enough to get them.'
The steps of more guards were quickly closing, the green lights flashing through the corridors.
'Two minutes. That should be enough to get away.' She turned into a sprint as she ran straight out of the vault. She ran back through the same dark corridors, her hand and legs rhythmically moving as she slowly and precisely inhaled and breathed out.
She swiftly turned behind the corner and blinked as she spotted the green visors of the guards standing in her path, the exit door right behind them.
She didn't even slow, her heart pounding in her chest. Then the gunshots resonated once more, and a hail of bullets tore through the air, heading straight at her. She didn't even bathe her eye as she raised her palm while still running forwards.
An invisible barrier rose before her as if she carried a bullet-proof glass shield. The bullets smashed against it, again and again, only to freeze mid-air, the metal clanging as the bullets rained all over the corridor.
"Stop her!"
"Keep the line!"
The green circles were getting closer and closer, the muzzle flashes constantly blinding her.
"It is over!" The pulse of the telekinetic energy exploded out of her palm without her even stopping her run. All the bullets stuck in her shield shot straight toward the guards as if someone reversed the time.
Like a rain of knives, they tore through their ranks, tearing and stabbing into their exposed necks, legs, and arms. The blood splattered all over the white walls and floor as the dead bodies hit the ground.
Tia didn't even stop as she kept running.
All the drugs she was pumped with gave her so much stamina she felt like she could run for an entire day.
'Back in my previous life, one had to work for their strength. Here, all one needs are contacts and money, and you can skip it.'
The long white corridors with opulent furniture blended together, the girl not even caring about her surroundings as he ran, the metaphorical clocks constantly ticking in her head.
With each second the doors get closer and closer.
Finally, a wave of fresh, night air hit her as she finally ran out of the villa, the lush grass of the garden under her feet.
More than a dozen of thin green rays pointed at her, the guards in grey uniforms quickly approaching. Their weapons trembled, and their breaths were fast.
'They are all scared... they are not idiots and know how many of their colleagues I have killed, yet they still fight. Such a waste of good men when they gave them such shitty equipment.'
She could end it with a single potion, but she knew the eyes were looking at her, and she refused to reveal her trump card to her enemies and employers.
'Minute and a half, I have to go!' The world around her slowed as she entered a state of absolute calmness and focus. She could see and feel the green visors on her and hear the creaking of the weapon's triggers and the guards' leathery gloves.
'This will hurt...' She stilled her nerves and clenched her fists while mentally preparing for the upcoming pain.
"Now!" An immense force yanked her from the ground, and pain exploded through her entire body as if she had been hit by a car.
The guns flashed, and loud bangs resonated for the last time.
Tia, in her black suit, launched across the garden, the wind loudly howling around her, the bullets raining all around her, glancing and hitting against her suit only to slide off the resilient fibers.
The grass swayed behind her, and the world turned into a blur. The trees and guards passed by her, their green visors and yellow explosions from their weapon barrels blinding and swishing past her.
'One minute.'
She bent her legs and leaped from the ground, her force propelling her up as she jumped over the fence, the hailstorm of bullets swishing all around her.
With a loud thud, the girl in the black nano suit landed on the hard concrete, all her muscles and bones in pain. Yet she ground her teeth and suppressed it as she looked at a metallic lid into severs.
The faraway sounds of quickly approaching rotors came from the sky, bright lights glowing in the distance of the black night canvass.
'They are almost here.' The lid into severs popped out, and she jumped straight into the black abyss.
The stench of stale water and rot hit her intensely, making her head spin briefly. The dirty water flowed under her feet, and rats squeaked in the corners of the long tunnel that stretched far into the distance.
'Half a kilometer further down the tunnel should be my escape path.' The labyrinth of tunnels under the city was staggeringly convoluted, and it was her way out.
"Ahh!" Groaning, she dashed straight forwards, the water splashing under her feet and rats running away, their eyes glowing in the darkness.
