Skylar found herself on the edge of a mental breakdown, she could explode at any time. she didn't know what to answer, nor if she had to believe that woman.
She swallowed down, staring at those deep emerald eyes that woman had, as beautiful as immune to emotions, she didn't let transpire anything from that stare. Did she know the real Madisyn Lavinston? When Skylar spoke to Charlotte and organized the plan together, Charlotte never mentioned that woman and she said Madisyn didn't know anyone from the city, let alone the pub.
But what if she was wrong? What if Madisyn didn't tell her sister the whole truth? What if that woman knew the real Madisyn? It would mark the end of her plan, right when she was starting to gear with it. Skylar was very agitated, she already saw her plan fall into pieces in front of her eyes, her eyes of sacrifices, of racking her brain trying to find a plan, and all her career destroyed by a woman who knew the real Madisyn.
She remained reluctant for an instant, thanks to her practice she learned how to hide her distress and her uncomfortably, that state of mind was terrible but she covered it well. She showed a smile and offered the woman a confident look, "I don't know you, I don't have anything to hide. My sister never mentioned you so you mustn't be much more important and worth remembering."
The girl widened her eyes, showing how much she had unexpected that subtle comment of Skylar. However, that kind of answer was the only way to behave toward those people.
That woman raised her eyebrow and growled under her breath, her eyes flamed with anger.
She leaned forward, getting close to Skylar. She looked at her straight in her eyes, challenging her as if she was about to hit her. The way he looked at her, with such contempt that she wondered where that woman found all that hate. For no reason at all?
Her breast was moving up and down showing how agitated she was, irritation made the vein on her neck pump up.
She slouched even more forward, and Skylar swallowed down. That woman made her feel uncomfortable, she seemed the kind of woman who couldn't think twice before doing something crazy.
She neared even more, reaching her ear but Skylar remained still.
She opened her mouth, ready to whisper something in her ear.
Until all of a sudden Demon appeared from behind making Skylar flinch. How was it possible that he appeared there like that? How did he reach them so quickly and quietly not to be noticed or seen by her? Or maybe she was too busy staring at that woman that she didn't glance at him reaching them. He cleared his voice to catch that angry woman's attention, "Let her be, she is obsessed and thinks you're not who you say you're. I don't have time for your paranoid attitude. Let her alone." He said, glowering at the woman who now scoffed. She giggled nervously and rolled her eyes to the sky.
"Seriously?" She ranted gesturing to Skylar and then punching against the table.
"You never let any woman in, why her?" She asked still shaking her head in disapproval.
"Because." he shrugged, unwilling to answer her. Maybe he didn't even have an answer to provide, something about Skylar, "Go now."
The woman stood up, the anger was so vivid that she turned red and her fists were so clenched that Skylar wondered if she wasn't hurting herself. Out of fury, she slapped the glass of vodka making it fall abruptly on the table, Skylar had to back off her chair not to get wet and the woman exploded in a loud laugh.
"This bitch is scared of getting her rich clothes dirty huh? And you want her in?" She ranted out of nervous anger and whatever emotion she felt at that moment.
Demon slid out of his pocket a silk handkerchief and handled it to Skylar who smiled gently.
The woman shook her head and scoffed even more irritated by that gesture, she gave a last look at Skylar as if he wanted to kill her with a look and then she turned around to leave cursing under her breath.
