After the restaurant had closed down Emma and Christine went and sat at a table as Dynamis also went and sat beside them. The two women were drenched in their sweat as they drank some water and panted a bit while Dynamis was fine due to his blessings.
"Are you two okay?" Dynamis asked them as he looked at them.
"Yeah. Just a bit more tired than usual since we had to work without you for a time. I can't believe that you had helped us so much now that I know how tiring it is." Christine said as she sighed and drank some more water.
"Yes but... What happened to you?" Emma asked as she looked at him.
Christine also looked at him at that and he could feel that she had already realised what had happened but was most likely waiting for his words to her. After all, no one can change so much in just a day or two, not naturally at the very least.
"Well, to put it simply. I became a Blessed two days ago." Dynamis said to them as he decided to be truthful to her.
Christine let out a breath she had been holding when she heard that as she looked at him while Emma gasped as she brought her hands to cover her mouth as she looked at him with wide eyes.
"You really became a Blessed." Christine said to him with wide eyes.
He could see the awe, excitement and cheer in her eyes as she smiled faintly as she looked at him in joy at the news and he couldn't help but smile on response to it.
Emma meanwhile didn't say anything and only just looked at him with a surprised expression on her face as she regarded him and he wondered what was going through her mind as she looked at him.
"Yeah. Shocking, I know. But it is a good deal." Dynamis said to them with a smile on his face.
Emme and Christine blushed when they saw his smile as it has its usual effect after his blessing and his mouth twitched a bit at their reactions as he half expected them to act that way. The only ones he had seen who haven't been affected by his blessings were his sisters.
Of course, he hadn't exactly seen them so he had no idea about how wrong he was. Which is why he hadn't realised how his two sisters were reacting to his new looks and existence and their reactions had gone under the radar.
"That's... That's such a great news!" Christine said with a bright smile on her face.
"Th-That's right! Who knew that you would be able to become a Blessed." Emma said with a smile after she got her bearings.
"Yeah, it was quite lucky as well." Dynamis said with a chuckle as he remembered the things that happened.
"You must be famous at your college now." Christine said with a thoughtful look when she processed the information.
"I guess. Though I'm not that interested in being famous, it does help that my new status as a Blessed would keep most people away. Though I guess that soon enough they will try to get into my good graces." Dynamis said as he grimaced a bit.
He wasn't much of a people person, not like his sisters. They were the extroverts, and we're natural in a conversation and in a crowd. But he wasn't the same. He can hold a conversation without much of a problem but he doesn't quite enjoy it, which is why he is extroverted.
Though in hindsight, it might be because of his decreased interaction with students from his class over the years due to his own problems. He guessed that he should've given it more thought, but due to all the things that were happening, it was shelved into the back of his mind.
'Right now I have some free time to think about what to make of my past. It definitely wasn't that bad but that doesn't mean it was good either. The aptitude test will also be coming soon, so there is that.' Dynamis thought to himself as he sat on the chair.
"I bet. You don't know how crazy my classmates are about the Blessed. A day doesn't go by without me hearing them talk about a Blessed." Christine said as she shook her head at the memory.
"Well, it isn't anything new. I always hear some of our customers talking about the other Blessed. They are in almost every industry after all." Emma said as she smiled at her daughter's words.
"Ain't that the truth. They are becoming a norm due to the years going by but those that have other popular careers do become more loved by the people." Dynamis said to them with a shrug.
"Yeah. Still, can't believe that you actually became a Blessed." Christine said as she looked at him.
"Yeah. I'm also slowly coming to accept it." Dynamis said with a nod, after all, this all felt surreal.
One moment he was a normal young man with problems and the next moment he has become a Blessed who was Blessed by five Godly beings. It took some time for him to truly and fully accept the implications of this new reality of his.
"Which God did you get Blessed by?" Christine asked him curiously as she looked at him.
"That's something that you'll have to learn after I take the aptitude test." Dynamis said to her with a smile at that.
"But it's on Sunday." Christine whined when she heard that.
"Now now Christine, waiting a few days won't be much of a problem now would it? Besides, he had come forward and told us about his Blessed status hasn't he? I think that was more than enough." Emma said to her daughter with a smile.
"We would've come to that conclusion though." Christine said to her mother at hearing that.
"It's the principle of the matter. He trusted us enough to tell us about it." Emma said to her daughter with a smile.
"Yeah, I trust you two. You guys are my friends after all. And I've known you for quite a bit of time." Dynamis said to them with a smile.
"I guess. But, have you thought about what Guild you want to join? I mean, it will depend on how you do in the aptitude test but still, it wouldn't hurt to have a plan." Christine said to her friend.
"Well, my sister has made some arrangements for it. How that will go is dependent on how my aptitude test goes." Dynamis said to them with a shrug.
"Your sister? Does she work as an employee in a guild?" Christine asked with a raised eyebrow.
Emma also looked at him curiously at that, as he doesn't talk about himself much when he was there. They know that he has sisters but he hasn't told them anything too deep about her and his family.
And since they knew that he wasn't comfortable with talking about them they haven't pushed him for more information and respected his privacy. Though they were still curious about his family in the end.
"Yeah, she is a Blessed and has made arrangements with a guild. If the aptitude test goes well then I will be accepted into one." Dynamis said to them as he drank some water.
"Wait. Your sister is a Blessed!? Why didn't you tell us?" Christine asked in shock at the information.
Emma was also the same as he was shocked and surprised by the info. They were friends with the brother of a Blessed and they didn't even know it.
"You never asked." Dynamis said with a smile at hearing that.
"Oh don't you dare pull that one on me. We wouldn't have asked a question like that." Christine said as she pointed at him with narrowed eyes.
Though the smile on her face showed that she wasn't that serious about it and Emma just shook her head with a smile on her face.
"Sorry I didn't tell you about her. But I didn't want any special treatment. God knows how many people will try to suck up to you if you are or are related to a Blessed." Dynamis said with a shake of his head.
"Yeah, I can understand that." Christine said with a nod as she has seen some of the students from her college sucking up to another student who has connections to a Blessed.
Emma also nodded at that as many people would do things to get the favour of the Blessed. And a part of her also wanted to do it, to get more money and protection for her daughter.
This restaurant is the only source of money for her, and she worries for her daughter and her safety. If she were to perhaps ask a Blessed for help them she would at least be able to guarantee the safety of her daughter.
But she didn't, because she knew that her daughter would be against her doing something like that. She doesn't like sucking up to people, not after all the hard work that they have done to run the restaurant and make ends meet.
Her daughter reminded her of herself, once in the past, before she had given birth. She had the same fire, the refusal to bow to others for her livelihood and to have some dignity for herself.
But after Christine's birth? She didn't care about dignity after that, as what she wanted most was to make sure that her daughter will be able to live more comfortably.
What she cared most was her daughter and if doing that will ensure that she will be a bit more protected? She was willing to do that as long as her dear daughter is fine.
But her daughter wouldn't allow it and due to that she hasn't tried it. Though she glanced at Dynamis after learning about his new status and his sister as she wondered if she could ask for his help. He already cares about her daughter and perhaps he would be willing to ensure her protection as well.
'What in the world are you think Emma? He trust you. You can't just do this to a boy like this.' Emma scolded herself in her mind as she caught her thoughts.
As she was thinking that Dynamis rummaged through his pockets and then pulled out a wad of cash which he put on the table. Emma and Christine's eye's widened when they saw the cash as they looked at it and then at him.
"What is this?" Christine asked as she narrowed her eyes.
"Money. I thought that this would help your restaurant a bit. My sister also wanted to thank you guys for giving me a job." Dynamis said to them as she looked at them.
"So, you decided to bring us money as thanks?" Christine asked as she looked at him.
'Oh no.' Emma thought to herself as she realised what is about to happen.
"Well, yes." Dynamis said to her after a second.
"You! What the hell Dynamis!? Are you pitying us? Is that it!? Is that why you are giving us this money!?" Christine shouted as she exploded as she glared at him.
"Christine!" Emma shouted in horror when she heard her daughter.
"No. I just wanted to help." Dynamis said with a wave of his hand.
"We don't need anyone's help. We have been doing fine on our own for a long time." Christine said with a scowl.
"Yes but it is getting harder, isn't it? I mean, you two are always exhausted at the end of the day." Dynamis said to her as she gestured to them.
"We are fine! We have been doing okay for the past few years without anyone's help and we can keep on going like this. So we don't need your money!" Christine said as she glared at the wad of cash.
"Christine." Emma called out to her daughter as she wanted to placate her.
"No. Just. You should know how I am feeling Dynamis. I! You! Gah!" Christine growled before she walked away from the table.
Emma and Dynamis watched her leave in silence as she went out of their field of vision as Emma groaned and held her head in her hands while Dynamis looked towards the mother.
"I... didn't expect her to react like that." Dynamis said to her as he looked at her.
"Just. Give her some time. I will talk to her about this. She knows that you mean well, but her want to be independent is a bit much." Emma said as she sighed at her daughter's behaviour.
'Though I can't say that I can fully blame her considering the mistakes I had made.' Emma thought to herself as she looked at him.
"Well, I guess I'll leave for today. Keep the cash, in case you really need it. My sister wanted you to have it anyway." Dynamis said as he stood up from the chair.
"Yes. Thank you. And sorry." Emma said in an apologetic tone.
"Don't be. I will come tomorrow as well. I hope you can calm her down by then." Dynamis said to her as he looked at her.
"I'll try." Emma said to him as she gave him a small smile.
Dynamis smiled back and then walked out of the restaurant as she watched him. Then she sighed and held her head as she looked in the direction her daughter went.
'Christine, I know why you act like that but you didn't have to react like that.' Emma thought to herself as she looked at the direction.
