Dynamis talked with the mother and daughter for a while longer, but this time the talks were more along the lines of everyday things that their past. He inquired about the shop and how they were doing and they told him that they were doing much better after he had decided to help them.
They also apologised again for how Christine had acted, but he told them that he didn't hold anything against them. After that they talked a bit more and then he decided to leave as it is getting late. He bid them goodbye before he went to the mansion as he entered the building.
"Shriya?" Dynamis blinked when he saw his sister near the door.
"I saw you coming here so I came to greet you. Is it a bother?" Shriya said to him as she smiled nervously.
"Oh uh, no, I'm just surprised." Dynamis said after a few seconds.
'Ah, so me greeting you is that surprising huh. Guess I should've expected that.' Shriya thought to herself as she looked at him.
"Where's Olivia?" Dynamis asked curiously as he started to go up the stairs.
"She returned half an hour ago and is in her room. She is probably doing some job regarding the Blessed. I don't try to learn about it." Shriya said to him with a shrug as she walked beside him.
"Makes sense. She is a valuable member of her guild so she would have some work to do." Dynamis said with a nod at hearing that.
"By the way, how was the work at the restaurant?" Shriya asked him curiously.
"It was fine. Nothing major happened and we got a good amount of money from it. It has become a place where I can relax as well, you know." Dynamis said with a smile as he sat there.
"I see. Guess it must be nice." Shriya said with a nod as they reached Dynamis's floor.
"Of course, they are good people. Also, after I became a Blessed I'm not the least bit tired from working so they have a much easier time at work." Dynamis said with a smile as he remembered it.
"Yeah, it takes a lot of mundane things to tire a Blessed out." Shriya said with a nod, as she knew that her sister could work for a long time without stopping.
The only times when a Blessed would get tired quickly is when they are fighting against the monsters as it takes a lot more energy to do that. She just hopes that her brother is trained enough for him to survive the battles ahead, after all, considering his status now he will gain a lot of attention.
'Guess he will become even more important than the two of us. Would you look at that.' Shriya thought to herself as she looked at her brother with a smile.
"Well, I'll go and take a bath. Is the food ready?" Dynamis asked as he reached the door to his room.
"The food has been prepared so you don't have to worry about that. Just make sure to come down after taking the bath." Shriya said with a small smile as he nodded.
"Got it." Dynamis said to her before he entered his room.
Shriya let out a sigh as she watched him go before she went to her own room. She then laid on the bed and thought about what he had said to her as she frowned at remembering it.
'He is close to those two, I can see that. But, I guess I am also to blame for acting like that. Stupid.' Shriya thought to herself in indignation at her past actions.
After learning about her brothers true feelings, she had re-evaluated her actions and attitude to her brother. That type of attitude arose due to her own capabilities and the praise from her parents. She let the praise get to her head and thought of her brother as inferior to her.
She remembered how she had treated him, and couldn't help but wince at the way she had acted towards him. She wanted to get more of her parents praise and attention and was quite a successful student, but her brother not keeping up with her cause her to think of herself as being superior to him.
Of course, she had regarded him as her hero, but after she started to think that he wasn't as good as her, she didn't see him as her hero anymore. She would belittle him and call him lazy and such, and she regrets all of those now, especially about how her brother thought about himself.
Her insults also had another reason, and it was that she wanted her brother to get angry at her insults and strive to become even better. She had read that people who want to do something and are motivated, would be able to do their best. And she also remembered how he would do things and gain success due to anger as well, which spurred her actions.
It was after the conversation that she realised how wrong she was. It wasn't that her brother was way inferior to her, he is good, but he just wasn't that good and she had great expectations for him.
She regarded him as a very talented individual, something which was mirrored by her sister and parents and she wanted him to become the hero she had seen him as. But after seeing how he didn't reach the height that she wanted, she started to get more cold towards him.
'Stupid stupid stupid. He was a good student, not the top of the class, but he was definitely a very good student. It was me who wanted him to achieve more. I was the one who had put standards and I... I was the one who hurt him.' Shriya thought to herself as she finally came to that point.
She had conflicted about her actions, but she wasn't able to fully admit to herself that she has hurt him so much. But she managed to after seriously thinking about it and mulling over it.
'I have to fix this. I have to make it up to him. Because, he deserves it.' Shriya thought to herself as she laid on the bed.
"I'm sorry big brother." Shriya muttered as she looked at the ceiling with a frown on her face.
Meanwhile Olivia herself is in her room as she is going through some reports that was sent to her. She looked at all of them seriously as her work will also have an impact on her guild as well. After she was done working on it, she went to another site as she looked at it.
"Hmm, a claymore looks like a good weapon for him." Olivia muttered to herself as she looked at the weapons that she can buy.
She wanted her brother to have a good weapon when he first goes through the Gate after all. The last thing she wants is for him to be unarmed against the enemies. And she will make sure that he will have good equipment.
"Alright, if I remember it right, then this is good and..." Olivia muttered as she started to select the equipment.
She spent a good amount of time buying equipment, after which she streched her arms and sighed to herself at a job well done.
"After it comes here I'll take Dyn to test them and see if it works for him. I'm sure he will be happy." Olivia said with a smile as she left her room after that.
She then went to the dining table as the maids started to bring the food as she took a seat at the head of the table. She waited for a few more moments before Shriya came and sat on her seat on Olivia's left side.
"Hey sis." Shriya said with a smile as she looked at her sister.
"Hey Shriya, I heard that Dynamis had come home." Olivia said to her sister with a smile.
"Yes. He will be here after taking the bath." Shriya said with a nod.
"That's great. We have special sea food today after all." Olivia said with a smile at her words.
"Huh. I think he'll like that." Shriya said with a smile as she looked at the various plates.
The two sisters then waited for him, and after a few minutes Dynamis also appeared wearing fresh clothes as he sat on Olivia's right and opposite of Shriya.
"Hey Dyn, how was work?" Olivia asked with a smile.
"It was fine." Dynamis said with a nod as he remembered the exchange.
"There wasn't any problems was there?" Olivia asked her brother curiously.
"No. It was all good." Dynamis said with a smile.
"I'm glad to hear that. I hope that the money I gave you to deliver to them has reached them. I forgot to ask about that." Olivia said to him with a smile.
"Yes, they are happy about it since it will allow them to run their shop much better." Dynamis said to her with a smile.
"Good. Well, let's eat." Olivia said to him as she gestured for the maid to removed the lids on the special dishes.
The lids were removed to show perfectly cooked large crabs, lobsters and a full shark. The last one causing Dynamis and Shriya to take a double take as they blinked their eyes a few times to make sure that they aren't hallucinating.
"Is that?" Dynamis asked as he looked at his sister.
"A fully roasted shark. It's very delicious." Olivia said with a smile as she looked at him.
"This is the first time I'm seeing this." Shriya said in surprise.
"It's for special occasions. Specifically, it's for Dyn, a small celebration for becoming a Blessed. But the real celebration will be after the aptitude test." Olivia said with a smile.
"Is a celebration necessary?" Dynamis asked her a bit nervous at her plans.
"Of course, it's a necessary thing. But now, let's eat." Olivia said as she ordered the maids to serve them as they followed their orders dutifully.
Dynamis and Shriya looked at each other before she younger girl shrugged her shoulders. Seeing this he let out a light chuckle before he looked at his plate which is getting filled with food.
'Well, at least my life is getting better. And that is a good thing.' Dynamis thought to himself as he started to eat with his sister's.
