The White Wall is the most advanced health facility on earth surrounded by a high and sturdy white wall. It was built on a green valley and surrounded by pure springs that flowed all the time. It used to be part of California state. This place has weather and temperature settings that won't be affected by extreme weather outside the White Wall. Winter here only occurs at the end of the year. Most are summer and rainy season with cool temperatures and pleasant breezes. That place is heaven in the midst of the mischief that is happening on earth. General Colten built the place for five whole years to realize all his great plans and to accommodate pregnant women so that they could go through their pregnancies with ease.
The place has one main building and eight other buildings built around the main building. The centerpiece of the White Wall is a state-of-the-art medical facility on earth with doctor Bryce at the helm. Doctor Bryce has about a thousand medical personnel and scientists working under his command to create new serums. They are all smart people gathered by General Colten on a long journey of two years in a row after the world war destroyed the earth. Most of them hide in underground passages, waiting for help to come to give them a better life. General Colten came as a savior to them. He gave them a new place to live, a new job, and a new hope that one day they would have a new world worth living in.
But not everyone agrees with General Colten's ideas. Some disagreed that General Colten had exploited their skills to create a new nation that would be filled with dictatorships. The contra chose to stay in the underground tunnel and formed an insurgency army called the Centurions.
Currently they are building a force in an undisclosed location to overthrow General Colten's government. However, they were very far behind General Colten's army because they only relied on nature and the conditions around their environment. They don't have any advanced tools. Several intruders have stolen advanced tools from the White Wall to build up a force against General Colten's army which is growing more and more ruthless by the day.
The black jetbus that General Colten was using stopped in the deserted and desolate courtyard of the White Wall. There is no one roaming the courtyard to enjoy the sunshine and the breeze as this place has a strict system of regulation. Any pregnant women or women in the process of pregnancy living on the White Wall are only allowed to leave their respective buildings for six hours a day. Two hours in the morning, two hours in the afternoon, and two hour in the evening before they returned to their respective rooms to sleep.
General Colten got off the plane followed by several of his men. He saw some of his soldiers carefully moving two capsules to be brought into the White Wall health facility. From where he stood General Colten could see Clio's face sleeping peacefully in the capsule, like she was snow white from a fairy tale his mother had read to him before going to bed.
General Colten's gaze shifted as he watched Doctor Bryce walk up to him with calm steps. His white coat fluttered behind his back like a pair of bird's wings flapping in the air.
"What are you doing here, Bryce? You should be in your lab and take care of those two new ladies."
"They will be handled well by Greyson and Giselle. I need you in my room now."
"About that serum? I will upgrade it later after doing a few things to my soldiers." General Colten smirked over his shoulder.
Commander Feron could see the cynicism and cunning behind that grin. He could already imagine what would happen after this to him and his soldiers. Two thousand volts of electricity was waiting for them as punishment.
"Can't wait until later. It's urgent and you must come with me to my room now."
General Colten clenched his jaw at the solemn expression Doctor Bryce made. He knew that doctor Bryce wouldn't have stopped him if they weren't really in an urgent situation. And he had to postpone today's pleasures to punish his stupid soldiers.
"Feron, do as I told you earlier. I'll catch up with you as soon as I'm done with doctor Bryce."
Commander Feron nodded stiffly and walked away with some of his soldiers. General Colten was left alone with doctor Bryce who seemed impatient to drag him to his room.
"How urgent is the situation?"
General Colten only really spoke after commander Feron and his soldiers disappeared behind a bend toward their building. He didn't want to risk his conversation and doctor Bryce being overheard by commander Feron or his men. General Colten couldn't guarantee that they were completely clean. There was always an intruder hiding among his soldiers. Even his commanders could at times turn to betray him.
"Very urgent. This is about the sample of your blood that I took and about the duration of the serums I injected into your body."
General Colten's face darkened even more. He hated getting any news from doctor Bryce regarding his body.
"Give me the outline."
"The duration of the serums is getting shorter. Less than two weeks. From now on you have to upgrade it once a week."
General Colten didn't say anything. He walked silently with Doctor Bryce to his room thinking various things in his head. Day by day his body became more and more resistant to the serum made by Doctor Bryce. He really wished he had the same body as his soldiers and didn't have to upgrade his stamina serum once a week. But if he had the same body as his soldiers he would not be able to have children and would become fertile. He clenched his fists in the pockets of his pants. He wasn't going to let Doctor Bryce sniff his nerves.
They walked across the lobby, then turned to the right, into Doctor Bryce's private room and laboratory. Several times they passed doctors or scientists passing around the building to check their progress. They all lowered their heads as they passed General Colten, avoiding the piercing gaze from General Colten's black eyes which always had a terrifying aura.
"Please come in. You seem tense."
"I'm fine."
Doctor Bryce closed the door behind him and locked it twice to make sure no one could enter his room while he was talking to General Colten.
"Why did all that happen?" General Colten didn't take the time to discuss his condition with Doctor Bryce. The sooner the better because he had so much to do as a leader of After Earth.
