Chapter 104 - What happened to those who betray her.

Seeing that the young girl was quite serious, Xiao Huang did not refuse. Instead, he took a deep breath and stated, " Young lady, are you sure you want a jailbird to help you out? I might not look like it but I am used to jail hopping."

" Did you hurt anyone?" Xua Ying Yue asked with a calm voice. There was pain and sorrow in her eyes that did not match her age causing Xiao Huang to frown.

He thought about it and then shook his head. Xiao Huang might have stolen and pocketed the purses of many women and men but he never harmed anyone.

" So why should I bother with this information of you hopping in and out of the jail?" Xua Ying Yue stated calmly as she looked at Xiao Huang. " There are many people who are walking freely after hurting others, compared to them…you deserve a second chance ."

Xiao Huang was touched. Even his wife hated him because of his constant jail hopping, though she and their son relied on his pickpocketing, they still acted as if they were better than him and acted contemptuously towards him. Xua Ying Yue was the first person who had treated him sincerely despite hearing that he was a criminal. He pushed himself off the ground and looked at Xua Ying Yue before saying, " Are you not worried that I will bring you troubles? Maybe I might even betray you."

" You can try," Xua Ying Yue stated plainly, she did not seem to be too bothered by his words and casually stated, " If you want to betray me then you need to see whether or not you have the capability." She then paused and turned on her heels before adding succinctly, " In case you want to see what happens to those who betray me, you can go and take a look at the market tonight. If you still want to work for me after that then you can come to the Tian restaurant, I will fix you a job."

With that, she walked out of the alley leaving Xiao Huang alone. The firmness in her voice caused Xiao Huang to look at Xua Ying Yue with amazement, he did not understand what she meant by taking a look at the market but his curiosity got the best of him.

Xiao Huang patted his clothes as he dusted off the dirt sticking to his clothes before picking up a few things that were scattered over the floor. Now that he was kicked out of the house, there was no point in staying here anymore as the things that were thrown out, they belonged to his wife and son. With both of them gone, there was no need for him to bother with the things on the ground.

Once Xiao Huang was done packing up, he walked out of the alley and then headed down the market. The night market of the M city had always been bustling with people but for some reason tonight, the market was even more rowdier than usual.

Xiao Huang noticed the crowd that was gathering in front of a small shop and couldn't help but slip past the people standing in front of him. For some reason, he had a feeling that this matter was related to the girl whom he met in the alley. So, while tugging on the strap of his bag, he walked over to the front of the crowd and was surprised to find a middle-aged woman kneeling in the middle of the street.

Her small vegetable shop was a complete mess and she was pleading with the thugs who were running in and out of her shop while carrying big baskets of vegetables in their hands.

"What's going on?" Xiao Huang asked one of the onlookers who was watching the ruckus without having the slightest bit of intention of helping out the middle-aged woman. " Why are they destroying the shop of this woman?"

The onlooker turned his head with an impatient expression on his face, it was quite clear that he was upset with Xiao Huang for disturbing his entertainment. However, the onlooker also seemed to be quite keen about gossiping which was why he answered Xiao Huang in a hushed voice, "It is her daughter. She offended some bad people and now her parents have to suffer because of it. Look there she is," the onlooker pointed to a young woman standing on the side of the road with a shocked expression on her face.

From her expression, Xiao Huang could see that the reason the young woman was shocked was not because she was getting entangled in a mess that did not belong to her but because she was stunned after realizing that she had been caught.

" Please..please let us go!" Madam Qi begged the thugs who were breaking into her shop. She cried and hugged the thighs of Boss Liu who did not even bother to pay attention to the old lady who was holding his thigh. He silently watched his men break the vegetable shop and only raised his hand when there was nothing left inside.

Only then did he lower his head and sneered at Madam Qi before saying, " From now on teach your daughter well. Tell her that there are people she cannot offend, if she makes the same mistake twice, I will be breaking your son's limbs rather than your shop."

As he spoke he kicked Madam Qi in the chest before motioning his men to follow him with a wave of his hand. Once the thugs left, the crowd of people also started to thin, however, Xiao Huang stayed where he was, he watched as the old woman on the pavement stood up from the ground and rushed towards her daughter, she did not even breathe as she started to rain down slaps after slaps on the back of her daughter while shouting,

" I sent you to college because I wanted you to study hard, what are you doing getting entangled with people like them? Do you wish to see me die, Qi Qing?!"

Qi Qing did not say anything, she only approached Boss Liu because she wanted to teach Xua Ying Yue a lesson. But …But she never expected that she would end up getting humiliated like this! What did that woman do!?

Xiao Huang was wondering the same thing as he watched Qi Qing, no wonder Xua Ying Yue told him to come to the market. She most probably wanted him to see what happened to those who messed with her.

" Guess, working for her is not that bad."
