Xiao Huang looked at the troubled woman and smirked. He did not sympathize with Qi Qing as he could see through her at just one glance, after living with his wife it would be surprising if he couldn't understand the woman who liked to climb up the social ladder.
With a tug on his bag strap, Xiao Huang turned on his heels and walked away leaving Qi Qing behind.
Qi Qing had no idea that she had been used till the end by Xua Xing Yue, at this moment she was staring at the mess in front of her. Her mother's face was covered with fatigue as she picked up the vegetables that could still be sold. With Boss Liu throwing the vegetables on the street most of the vegetables were ruined, however the Qi family was not rich.
Madam Qi could not waste the vegetables and could only pick the ones that were good in the hope that she would be able to sell them. But with such a ruckus happening, it would be difficult for their shop to gain customers again as most of the customers wouldn't want to converse with someone whose background was not clean.
The Red Reform army was on the lookout for criminals, if they were caught then it would do them more harm than good. Thus, even though most of the customers sympathized with Madam Qi, they all came to an unspoken agreement to avoid Madam Qi and her family for the time being.
" Are you happy now? You have ruined our family!" Qi Qing's brother, Qi Shiqi angrily snapped at her. He rushed forward and pushed Qi Qing with an angry expression on his face, he was three years younger than Qi Qing but was much smarter than his sister. Seeing how Qi Qing had ruined his family's reputation he could not help but get enraged.
As much as he respected his sister for becoming a university student in the past, he hated her just as much now that she had caused such trouble.
" Dad needs his medicine and my school fees need to be paid as well, now that something like this has happened, you tell me what are we supposed to do?" Qi Shiqi asked Qi Qing angrily. He wished he could slap his sister but his mother had taught him not to his women which was why he did not dare to raise his hands on his sister but that did not mean that she was not furious!
Father Qi was a construction worker in the past, however, he met with an accident and was now lying in bed. If not then Mother Qi would not have shown her face outside by selling vegetables.
Qi Qing stumbled back after getting pushed. It snapped her out of her daze as she glared at her brother before turning to look at her mother and complained, " Look at this Mom, he is acting so willful. Are you not going to say anything?"
In the past Mother Qi would support her daughter no matter what as she was studying at a university and was her pride but now Mother Qi did not have the heart to blatantly support Qi Qing. She was relying on her daughter to lead her family to live a good life but if she was getting entangled with thugs and gangsters, how could she even get a decent job much less raise the living conditions of their family?
Mother Qi only glanced at her daughter lightly before turning to look at her son. She calmly said, " Don't bother with her, come let us eat dinner."
Qi Shiqi glared at Qi Qing one last time before following his mother inside the house. Was being a university student a good thing? It was clearly not! Just a few days out of the house and his sister caused such trouble!
When Qi Qing saw that her mother did not stand up for her, she was shocked. But what shocked her even more was that she was locked out of the house by her mother! Tonight she returned to her house because she wanted to eat dinner cooked by her mother and save her the money in her meal ticket but now that she was locked outside, what was she supposed to do? And what about the money?!
" Mother! Open the door and let me in!" Qi Qing banged on the door as she screamed but no matter how many times she knocked on the door, no one opened it for her causing her to feel anxious.
This…This was not supposed to happen!
The one who was supposed to suffer was Xua Ying Yue! Why was it changed to her?
Qi Qing wanted to continue banging on the door but then her attention was caught by the neighbours who were pointing at her while discussing something in hushed whispers. Of course, Qi Qing caught a few words and her face turned pale.
They all were calling her names for getting entangled with thugs!
" Who are you calling shameless woman? It is not me! It's Fan Jiayi! She is the one who…" Qi Qing shouted at the crowd that was pointing at her, their gazes burning into her skin like hot magma. Why …why were they all looking at her like that?
" No…don't… Fan Jiayi! It was all Fan Jiayi!" Qi Qing muttered wildly, it was Fan Jiayi who told her about Boss Liu and she was the one who took her to Boss Liu when Qi Qing told her that she wanted to teach Xua Ying Yue a lesson as Qi Qing did not know anyone in the underworld.
Ignoring the gazes and the whispers of the people, Qi Qing immediately turned on her heels and rushed back to the dormitory. She needed to talk with Fan Jiayi, she was the one who helped her contact Boss Liu, now that the man had caused her so much trouble shouldn't Fan Jiayi do something?
After all, she was the one who caused this mess! If not for her, how could she get into such trouble?
