It has been a few days and I now have a steady stream of customers which in return means more money. I still don't know why I am saving up so much money which I probably will never use. I don't need to buy food or anything else for that matter as I never even leave the tavern in the first place.
Now that I think about it I wonder who owns this tavern or more specifically this building. Even if it was run down and abandoned surely someone must own this place. That would mean that i would have to pay them rent, which with the amount of money I have wouldn't be a problem.
I need to start going outside so people won't begin thinking that I'm strange. After all I never leave and I'm sure that people will start wondering how I have so much food when I never go to buy any. I don't think it will take long as this place is starting to, by my standards at least becoming popular.
In the beginning when adventurers started coming in I thought that they would all just be muscle brains, but to my surprise the majority of them are pretty smart. There are still muscle brains of course, just not as many as I previously thought.
I then waited for a day when no one was in the tavern and then got ready to leave. I know i need to leave to draw suspicion off me along with the fact that it would help my mental health, but I still don't want to go. I didn't give up though, instead I petted my cat, got myself mentally prepared, and opened the door.
When I looked out the doorway it was still the same bland and semi scary alleyway it has always been so I walked out. No one was in the alleyway which I thought there would be but i guess that today is a slow day for the tavern.
I turned back towards the tavern and marveled at its now friendly and homey look and started walking to the busy street ahead. I walked past the farthest point I had gotten to before which was when I found my cat. I stopped close to the exit of alleyway and looked at the street which was still mostly the same.
Everyone on the street besides the merchants and store owners had adventurers cloths and armor very befitting of a world of swords and magic. Funnily enough though my clothes which I simply wore just because practically matched everyone else's clothing which would help me blend in.
I thought that at first but the more I looked around I realized something, there weren't many demi-humans which I thought was kind of strange. There was about one half animal demi-human per 10 humans. As for full animal demi-humans I couldn't even find any.
I didn't think that demi-humans were this rare, no one looked at me strange and everyone was nice to me in the tavern so i thought that they were common but I guess not. Ether way I must not let this fact discourage me from my mission.
All I need to do is buy I few things and for the worst case just go out and get use to the environment, no big deal. After gathering all my courage I walked out of the alleyway and into the busy street ahead. I only had my money pouch which was very full and heavy as I have a lot of money but no one gave me higher ranking coins for payment.
I while walking the streets decided to look for a store, stall, merchant or anyone really with simple ingredients. After wondering around a little I finally found a stall that was selling simple vegetables and fruits that I could buy.
I was worried how my interaction with the stall lady would go but I was even more worried about her scamming me with having super high prices. I'm hoping I will be fine as my clothes aren't rich looking enough to make someone want to scam me and I should have more than enough money to buy all the food I need at least in the commoners zone.
Either way I wish I knew the prices of everything so I don't end up paying triple. Due to my thoughts my cheat skill activated and put all the information I would need into my head. I'm happy that I know the prices and won't get scammed but now I realize I need to be more careful with the way I word thing, both in my head and while talking.
I basically have to follow the same rules you would follow if you had a genie. Only my wishes are infinite and are exactly as I ask for them. I guess you could say I DON'T have to be careful what I wish for. Still need to be care of coarse as I don't want to make someone disappear by accident.
After my thoughts ended I walked up to the stall and asked to buy twenty what looked to be apples and cabbage. Nothing noteworthy happened as she was polite and from my new found knowledge was not trying to scam me. I then pulled out my large pouch which I know probably attracted every theft and pickpocket's attention and payed for it all.
Now that I bought my first food items I realized that I forgot a small detail about my outing, I have no way to carry the food. She didn't give me a bag after my purchase of course as it not a grocery store and I forgot tho bring one.
In the end as to not be rude I scooped up all the food with both hands and tried walking back to the tavern with it all but it didn't work as I had twenty of each and ended up dropping it all in front of me I was wondering how I could move all when I happened to turn looking into a random alleyway.
I noticed that unlike mine which is abandoned except for my customers this one was filled with homeless people and orphans which was hard to look at as they were starved and dirty. Most if not all the people in the alleyway were kids too.
I then thought up a way to move all this stuff which I could solve with one thing, money. I then executed my plan and walked into the alleyway to the kids. They looked scared which at first I didn't understand but then I realized they probably thought I was going to kidnap them which made me a little sad.
I then went up to the closest kid and said, "Hi, I don't want to harm you, my name is Kumo, what is yours?" The boy then replied "I don't have one." Well now I feel awkward, but I didn't let that stop me and said loudly enough so they could all hear me, "I need help carrying a few things so if you don't mind could you please help me, I'll pay you of course.
At fist they looked at me confused but when they heard that I would pay them their eyes lit up. I guess they don't get paid anything so that means that they can't miss this chance and have to help me. They all got up and came to me and excitedly all asked what to do.
I then said, "Everyone who wants to help pick up as much of this food as you can and follow me please." They a quickly picked that all up and were ready to go I of course was also helping. I then said "follow me!" and started to make my way home.
They made a line behind me and began to follow me back to my tavern. After a walking for what wasn't too long of a time I finally made it with them following behind. I then propped the door open and said to them with a smile, "Please put them on the counter and once your done I will pay you all."
After they finished and all the food was accounted for I said, "Thank you for your help and as promised here you go." I then handed them all a few coins, it wasn't much but in reality I think it was to them. They all were very happy and were talking about it amongst themselves and I thought I even saw a few have teary eyes.
Then the all at the same time said "Thank you!" which made me very happy and made me feel good. I then showed them out and said bye to them all. That was a fun experience, maybe I should ask them to help me next time I go out. I liked them all and feel bad for them so I might as well pay them a little to help them.
With that I decided I shopped enough and stayed inside with my cat waiting for tomorrow.
