" Then mind explaining, why would the tsunami attack my land? Don't the tsunamis attack the lands by the control of their lords?" The dark-haired one "questioned" the other one, thinking that she had gotten him this time, almost smirking victoriously to herself.
The male stiffened at such a statement, yes, the tsunami was and is under his control, but he had accepted the truce, and hearing the fact that the tsunami attacked the land, got him on edge. He was the king, and he was the only one in his kingdom that had the ability to control the ocean, including all the seas and rivers that were located in the territory.
Although, he wondered, if he was the only one with such an ability, then, how was the tsunami able to make such a move? It is a fact that the tsunami was fully dependent on the king himself, and everyone knew that it wouldn't just decide to attack the land when there were no accidents that would trigger the tsunami to the point where it would attack the surrounding lands.
" Impossible…" was all he was able to mumble. Because the attack incident came so unfortunately random that he was unable to comprehend the sentences that were coming out from the girl.
" What's impossible? you betraying me behind my back?" She queried, not really caring about what would the king in front of her would answer.
" You must have been mistaken... when did the tsunami attack?"
" Well, at around 2:47 PM, and why are you asking, weren't you at fault?" she rolled her eyes while crossing her arms over her chest.
Hearing the girl's statement made the king relax his shoulders for a second, but when a thought crossed his mind
He tiredly sighed.
" By that time, I was busy." He stated, earning a not-so-believed face from the dark-haired girl. She just couldn't believe that he wasn't the one. Because he was the only one who had the ability that could manipulate all types of water. And after hearing the suspect's denial got her perplexed. After all, all the evidence pointed at him, that he was guilty.
" Believe me, when I say that it wasn't me who committed such an act. After all, why should or why would I lie? you are in my territory, which means that I have the advantage. Think about it, if it really was me, then, how come are you alive?"
'Damn... he wasn't chosen as the king for nothing.'
She thought as she narrowed her eyes at the nothingness in front of her. She was so done with all of this...
Slowly nodding her head at the king's statement, her posture became more relaxed. Because indeed, if he wanted to kill her, he would have done so without a second thought.
Although he was still suspicious in her eyes, so she opted to play along, wondering where it all would take her.
After all, life is just like a game. Weak people die, while strong ones survive.

The Next Day

His eyes were blinded by the white flashes. Unable to run away from it because he was already surrounded by them. Being encompassed as if he was some prey on the turf of its predators that were encircling him, ready to launch and devour it at any second.
The glowing white flashes burned his eyes to the point where he even questioned if his eyes were lit on fire or if it was the side effects.
At the impact, he just shut his eyes tightly, although it didn't help him in any way, since the burning sensation in his eyes worsened.
He didn't ask for this,
How hilarious it is, life is always gifting you with something you never asked for.
Wonder why that happens...?
Maybe it is for us to understand the value of our gifts.
That is...
If you even care about it in the first place.
"Please, explain to us, how were you able to prevent the tsunami from crashing to the land?" one of the journalists inquired as he shoved the microphone in the brunette's face, almost hitting his nose in the process.
" Yes, please! how were you able to make the tsunami recede" another journalist joined in, doing the same as the first one had done. Although she, on the other hand, didn't punch the person in the face with her microphone, she just politely shoved it at the brunette boy's face.
While the brunette boy just awkwardly stood there, unable to comprehend the current situation he was facing at the moment.
This was the first time that he was interrogated by the media, and he didn't know how to react to it. Since something like this happened for the first time.
" He is busy right now!" a blonde girl with faint blue eyes announced as she grabbed the brunette boy by the hand and began running to the school at a fast pace wanting to lose the journalists.
Taking turn after turn,
They did this for a while until there was no sight of the journalists. So thinking that they had lost the media, they came to a halt.
The blonde girl turned around, panting, she breathed out:
" Why were the journalists after you?"
" I have no idea----"
Although, he paused when a certain realization began to hit him harder than a bullet could.
' When I passed out, what happened after?'
' Did I really pass out, or...'
The thought that crossed his mind made him think a lot more than he should have. After all, he had to analyze the given situation.
Was he an overthinker or something?
" What are you thinking so much about?!" the blonde one exclaimed, impatience carved on all of her moves. Her arms crossed over her chest, her feet tapping on the warm concrete floor with a frown worn on her face.
Annoyed would be an underestimatement.
Because not only was she late for school, but her best friend was hiding something from her, while she on the other hand, never hid anything away from him. Since they were best friends and best friends never hid anything away from each other...
Right...?
She groaned while rolling her eyes at the boy in front of him. She knew where all this would lead, so she just started to walk away.
And fortunately for her, her best friend had just escaped his own train of thought.
" Wh-where are you going?" he queried, looking a lot more than confused. Because you imagine, being lost in your own thoughts and barely able to come back to reality to find a situation such as this. And the fact that his intelligence quotient, IQ for short, was below average, didn't help at all.
At first, the blonde just gave him an annoyed look, but then realized that he wouldn't understand it as well.
" To the school, is it not obvious?"
" Why school..?" the brunette mumbled, looking at his wristwatch only to realize that they missed the first period and the second one was starting. " we are going to be late, so why not stay at home and chill?"
" Well, the reason why I prefer to go to school than stay at your place is a thing that people with low IQ will not be able to understand."
Hearing the blonde's statement made the brunette frown.
" Did you just call me dumb?!"
" Did I lie?"
She gave him a mocking expression, making the male's face turn downwards even more than it already was.

She wanted nothing more than to live...
She wanted to live a normal life...
A life where you didn't have to worry about anything other than your studies...
A life where you didn't have to worry about your siblings' health...Because your parents would take care of them...
A life where your family would be together, where everyone would be happy...
A life where your parents didn't die...
If only they didn't die...
If only-----
" Chie Yoru!" She snapped her eyes open,
'oh no...'
She had fallen asleep during the lessons, and worst of all... the teacher had caught her sleeping. Of course, the chances of her ending up in the principal's office were extremely high, because, in truth, no teacher would tolerate their student sleeping during their class.
" I have been calling you for a minute now, and you were not responding, were you sleeping during this time?" the teacher queried, he knew the answer, but he wanted to hear it from her. Because he knew that it would be harder for the said girl to answer his question.
While Yoru, on the other hand, was unable to answer, her eyes were lurking around the classroom, seeking help, but no one responded. They all just sat there staring at her with blank faces.
At this rate, she knew that she would be doomed.
" Answer my question," the teacher demanded, while she gulped down the lump in her throat.
If only she didn't close her eyes...!
...None of this would have happened...!
She squeezed her eyes tightly shut in order to prevent the tears from forming in her eyes.
But the fact that she was unable to answer the teacher's " question", was evident to everyone in the class.
Yet none of them got the idea of helping her out...
None of them had...
" I...I..." she began stammering in her own words,
