"Sweetie, look. "The thing is," Veronica began to say, but knew Lisa wouldn't believe her no matter how she framed her sentences. Who'd believe any of what she was about to say?
"Tia, would you like to come with me? In the meantime, maybe we can get some of your things. We need to be leaving soon." Veronica said.
Tia wasn't allowed to go anywhere alone or with strangers. In fact, she wasn't allowed to go anywhere if Marc wasn't with her. She looked at Marc for permission who instantly nodded. A surprised Tia got up from her seat and followed Veronica who was almost out of the door.
"Lisa. Are you okay?" Marc turned towards Lisa.
She sat in silence for a moment before finally finding it in herself to speak up.
"What's going on, Marc? Is anyone going to fill me in?"
"Your mom and I spoke while you were resting. We decided I should be the one to tell you. But before we begin, are you okay?"
"I am fine." She replied, realising that her question wasn't going to be answered just yet.
" I am glad. I couldn't stand to see you in pain. The thing is.." Marc tried to offer her an explanation but couldn't find the right words. ".. I am not who you think you are. Actually, I am not what you think I am. It's.." and he was quiet again.
" Marc…"
Before he could respond with a word, he found himself moving towards her. Placing his lips on hers, he closed his eyes for a moment. To his surprise, Lisa responded to him. She kissed him back, holding herself steady as she tried to get up. Marc pulled her towards himself with his lips. He grabbed her hair and could already feel himself getting stiff. This wasn'tthea time for any of this. He had to stop.
He was surprised and started to unbutton his shirt. His black shirt was a striking contrast against the moonlight. His sharp features made him so appealing that for a moment Lisa forgot what was on her mind. They continued to kiss, and stepping together until his back was against the wall.
He slipped his hand into her T-shirt and suddenly stopped.
"Lisa?"
She looked at him with a confused expression. She knew that this wasn't the time for any of this. Hadn't they already messed up enough? And now their lives were on the line if her mother was to be believed. Why then she felt the urge to kiss him?
"Lisa, I can explain. What you are feeling now is a lust for mating that I have been fighting since I first saw you. "
"A lust for what?" Lisa withdrew her hands from his waist and scanned his face curiously.
"Lust for mating. You see, like I said, I am not what you think."
"Then who are you? What are you?" Her words were barely audible."and how do Mom and you know one another?"
"I am something dangerous. I am..."
sheShentinued to look at him while trying to give him space to speak. When he didn't finish his sentence she turned around.
"I'll ask mom. I am going to look for her. Is she in the building? Where am I?"
"Lisa,"
"What the fuck are you? What's happening?" She scscreamed. Sheas almost near the door, when Marc appeared in front of her, slamming the door with his back.
"How is that possible? You were just now there. Wh.." her lips were now sealed in surprise and Marc could sense her fear.
"Calm down, Lisa. Take a seat and listen to me."
"The hell? Listen to you for what? I have had enough. I am losing my mind with all this." She tried to push him aside. 'I must be weak after the night's events.' She thought when she couldn't push him even an inch. Either he was unnaturally strong, or she had lost her energy. Strangely, she didn't feel weak. If anything, she felt a rage build up in her that seemed to make her strong. Yet still, she couldn't find a way out of the door.
" I said. LISTEN. I am a.."
"You are a what?" Lisa asked in spite of her fear.
"Warewolf." Marc yelled and Lisa took several steps back.
