Chapter 18 - Emil! Open the door!

Irina was in a new day, many new days had passed.

After all, it had been almost a week since the day she dropped Amany off at the airport and it would be a lie not to say that she was looking forward to finally reviewing what she affectionately liked to call 'her girl'.

The nickname started with a small joke in the middle of one of the several phone calls they made daily.

It all started when Amany was bored waiting for the photographer to prepare the sets for the photos and Irina asked if she would like to talk a little while she waited.

Of course she wanted to and immediately her day had improved simply by Irina thinking of how to cheer her up.

Listening to Irina's voice, she could only wish more and more that the sets took even longer to prepare.

Amany has always been a soft and gentle woman, but with Irina it seemed impossible for her not to ooze extreme sweetness.

Such sweetness made Irina want to call her my girl and that was a nickname that became repetitive due to the shy and embarrassed way she always had to hear it.

Beautiful, simply beautiful.

Well, they really were in an arduous process of getting to know each other and they couldn't even spend many hours without sharing some thoughts via message or chatting via phone or video call.

Amany had even said that she had found the perfect thing to bring Irina as a present and kept it a huge secret.

Definitely that gift would be a great surprise.

But not everything was rosy and even though her situation with Amany was getting better, some issues had arisen in Irina's life that demanded a lot of her attention.

Emil had finally been found and the family tried in a friendly way to convince him to return home, but all the numerous attempts had failed humiliatingly.

He had a strong refusal to return and was very stubborn about staying the way he was, but it was a really problematic situation when you realized that he had strong moments of violence and he seemed to be really in a delusional state.

The family was really worried and Irina felt hostage to the whole situation, how could she act?!

Irina was running out of options and so she should resort to her last resort: she should go get Emil herself.

She was avoiding that option mainly out of fear of how Emil would react to her presence.

The two haven't seen each other since the end of 'Unbreakable' and well... It wasn't like they were close throughout that whole plot.

They were two people who succumbed to enmity and it resulted in a brutal estrangement between them in real life.

How to separate two realities so close and so real?! Just so hard and suffocating.

She wanted to avoid any discomfort... Well, how could she guarantee that he wouldn't be scared when he saw her?!

Ultimately there was no choice, she would personally go look for her brother and hopefully get him home.

But that wasn't all and as if fate played tricks, Bella also made herself more present than ever.

She already aware that Irina was aware of her current condition had requested a meeting so that they could discuss the topic further.

After all, I'm pregnant and someone needs to be responsible for this or at least we need to talk about the future.

She didn't intend to use the child as a pretext to be close to Irina, if she realized that there were no chances for her... Well, how to simply force love where it doesn't exist?!

She refused it, but she really wanted to be able to spend some time with Irina and somehow win her over.

But it was really difficult.

Irina had assured Bella that they could talk properly the moment they were able to better resolve Emil's situation.

She just wished that Bella could have some patience.

"We have already arrived at the address where young Emil is, we received information that he has not left the house since yesterday..."

Irina nodded as she watched Dominica park the car in front of a farther house.

So he was there all this time?! She felt miserable.

Irina looked guilt-ridden for not taking better care of her brother, but she also felt a little inexplicable.

It seemed that only she was struggling to find him.

How could you not get mad at your parents or whoever it was?!

She sighed a little wearily and finally opened the car door for herself.

There were a few people hired by Irina who quickly nodded in respect and she simply made her way to the door of the house.

Before knocking she stared at the doorknob a few times, took a deep breath filled with fear.

She knocked once, twice, three times.

Three light knocks on the door were enough to let her know someone had arrived.

Irina didn't need much and five seconds was all it took for the door to finally open.

As expected Emil was the one who opened the door, he was already imagining that there would be someone else behind him just to convince him to come back.

He didn't want to go back.

Feeling extremely irritated he opened the door with some force and without even noticing who was waiting for him he screamed. "... I already said no..."

Emil while speaking finally looked at who was in front of him... Irina.

It was her sister.

Immediately he didn't know what to say and it seemed impossible not to retreat in his attitudes, he suddenly felt ashamed to be acting like that in front of his older sister.

The person he respected so much.

Emil respected Irina more than anyone else in his family, always so elegant and beautiful, she seemed like the kind of unattainable person that everyone would follow without a second thought.

"Irina?"

Emil and Irina stared at each other for a few moments, in complete silence they seemed to digest what was happening.

Not even they could say what they felt at that moment, it was a huge mix and complex of emotions.

They were in the midst of the huge heap of sensations that existed between hate and love.

Irina finally came to her senses, she had to say something, it was no use just staring. "Cough... Emil... Long time no see..."

Emil glanced once more at Irina and quickly looked in all directions around them.

He felt nervous, distressed.

He dreaded the myriad possibilities running through her mind.

He didn't think much of his further actions and simply pulled Irina into the house.

She didn't have any reaction and was completely taken by surprise with that unusual attitude.

Dominica, who was outside, watched with an enormous sense of alertness and urgency.

She was willing to do anything to save Irina, even if the price was Emil himself.

She played on her radio and decreed. "Miss Irina has just been picked up by Emil, be prepared to act any time upon my signal..."

Dominica ran to the door and without any hesitation knocked loudly on the door. "Emil! Open the door!"

He was panting, he was on the verge of a fit, filled with anxiety and fear he just wanted some peace. "Why are you here? Who is here with you besides Dominica?"

Irina was really taken aback, but it wasn't like she was terrified of Emil, she was confident that he shouldn't hurt her.

But it was obvious that in normal situations he wouldn't act like that, it was really worrying to see his brother acting like that.

She smiled as gently as she could in an attempt to soothe her brother. "I came to hear you say you are not coming home."
