Other people looked on with interest as they saw Mog head-butting with someone.
Mog, the Meathead. He was strong, but he could see that it would be a bad call to fight against this stranger.
Rei's eyes glinted as he quickly sheathed his sword, still with the same smile on his face, "Let's go, guys."
Mog was surprised. He wanted to back off as he was not 100% confident in beating Rei, but since so many people he knew were watching, he didn't want to lose his face. However, if Rei was willing to back off first, he didn't mind it.
…
Rei and others soon found what they wanted, a buyer.
"Lead me to the ship. I'll see how much it's worth," said Ford, a middle-aged Norgil race man.
Norgil race people had blue skins and two antennas that glowed dark blue, with their average height being the same as humans.
Their specialty was their antennas. They could capture low sound frequencies like many animals, a feat not possible for humans and other humanoid races.
Moreover, they can communicate with each other at low sound frequencies by using their antennas. So if they want to talk secretly in the open, nobody can hear them.
"The ship is in good condition," Ford said, nodding in praise after checking the ship.
"How much can you give?" Rei asked with a smile. He knew the price of this ship from Terra. It was 138k Milky Way Credits.
But it was cheap only because it came from the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. This ship was considered one of the lowest-tier ships there, but it could fetch a higher price here.
"Hmm, I would say one-fifty," Ford said, his expression thoughtful.
"Impossible," Rei shook his head as he funnily smiled. "This ship's barrier is a quality one. I want three hundred."
300k!
"You must be joking. I know the price of this ship, so don't try that, haha," Ford said, loudly laughing as he turned to Rei. "But I can still dismantle it with my crew for profit."
"One-seventy. That's final," Ford said. His smile at Rei caused Leo and the others to look at each other wryly.
This old man knew his shit.
"Fine," Rei unhurriedly said with a nod, almost making Ford happy before he uttered, "Then my final is two hundred, and since I want to buy another spacecraft, I'll listen to your advice. We both profit from this."
Ford frowned and looked at the ship again. After a few moments of contemplating, he nodded. "Deal."
"Cool. I'll hold off on taking money, so show me some smaller, slander and quick spacecraft."
…
After returning to Ford's workshop, he took everyone to his private garage.
"Star-Saber Hawk. One of my best works," Ford said, a proud smile on his face as he introduced his best work Rei and his gang. "Its main engine is a modified 8th Gen reactive energy core. The best one I can make from normal 8th gen engine cores."
The spacecraft had a long-pointy head with a wide handle 60 meters back from the head. Both sides of the handle were attached to the pointy head, and the living space of the spacecraft was entirely in its wide handle, with the control room at the center of the handle.
"This thing can dance on the battlefield, but I haven't seen anyone do this even after selling thirteen of them," Ford said, a sigh leaving his mouth. "Yours is fourteen, and coincidently, it's my favorite number."
Turning to Rei, Ford smiled, "Let's see if you can make this dance."
"I was not planning to, but seeing such a fine piece of art, I can't help, but vision what you said, old man," Rei said with a smile of thrill plastering on his face. "If I ever get a chance to let this dance on a battlefield, I'll surely do it."
"That's the spirit, hahaha." Ford laughed.
"Guess we are booked for a future death ride with Rei," Leo said, sighing with a wry smile.
"Sounds exciting… I think," Alice said, a spark of excitement also flickering in her eyes while her face remained pondered.
Lia just smiled behind her creepy mask. She couldn't say anything as she was playing a role. But she shared her sentiments with Alice.
The beast of her ability was riling her up, making her feel a strange zest.
"It seems like a base model for now, without any armaments, right?" Leo asked.
Ford nodded, "Indeed, I give that option to customers."
Turning to Rei, Ford continued, "If you want to buy this, I'll sell it for three hundred thousand. No negotiation. For armaments, I'll do it for free if I have them."
"Deal," Rei said, smiling as he continued, "I only want two armaments. A not too shabby barrier and a long-range lance weapon with an attached tough cord that can pass electricity from the ship."
Ford frowned and shook his head, "Barrier can be done, but a hook on this scale of ship is not advisable. Better get some laser guns and cannons."
"Why do you want a hook?" Ford asked with confusion.
"That's going to be our main weapon to escape trouble for now," Rei said with a light smile. "Don't ask, and please do it. Make it slim but tough and as long as possible."
"Fine. I don't have any hook for now, but I'll make one quickly. Come back after two hours. I'll take those extra hundred, and you take the completed ship."
After saying that, Ford turned to a dark corner in the warehouse that led to a corridor and moved his lips.
Nobody could hear him, but his companions entered the warehouse one by one.
"What's the matter, Ford? Any work?"
"Yeah, start the workshop. We have an order," Ford ordered his crew.
"Then we'll get going. See you after two hours," Rei said to Ford before leaving with the others.
