The Landor siblings had departed from Kalen as he sat back on his couch and pondered. Staring at the contract the brothers had given him, Kalen's face was bland and empty.
His mind strayed and memories of past event came flooding back to him. It was not his desire at a time like this to take a trip down memory lane. The Red Star scrunched the paper in his hand and swore to make Lord Kanon pay what he did. That was how Kalen saw it, that he was wrongfully punished by his former master.
The Landor brothers shared a common goal with the Red Star, but their methods were different and Kalen was going to do the job in his own way.
Kalen realised one thing from his interaction with the Landors...he could not bring himself to kill Lord Kanon, at least not yet. Somewhere inside, he still had respect for his old master. No matter how much he tried to convince himself that he could, the truth only became clearer each time.
