Before he could ask how and when, a huge silhouette appeared amidst them laughing hysterically. "How satisfying to see you're not even as strong as I last saw you!" Fellene said as he made his way towards Brunos.
His long white hair flowed on his right side, leaving only the horn on his left visible. The horn rose from his temple, extending backwards and bending downwards to form a question mark sign around his pointy ear. A question-mark-like horn.
Living with abnormality for all those years on Earth, Brunos had developed a syndrome of 'I hate being called abnormal.' Being called ugly or weak. So, Fellene's words felt as bitter as karella to him. For that, Brunos decided to return the favor and give Fellene a taste on his own dish.
"How also satisfying to know that I still have a chance to attend my brother's wedding ceremony!" On his lips hang a mockery smile as he sarcastically said those words.
Since Fellene loved Valeria, since he knew Valeria loved Brunos, reminding him that if he was back, his dreams of marrying her would never come true, felt like a smart idea to Brunos. Pissing Fellene off had two benefits for him. First, he would know how to behave around him. Second, it would be justice for previous Brunos for what Fellene and his brothers did to him.
Was that enough? Brunos had to add something even more bitter. "It's also satisfying to see you're still a submissive servant. To see you've abandoned your everything for the sake of meeting your master midway to insure his safety!"
He didn't care how Fellene was going to react. All he wanted was to determine his future in Grinan through his first impression. He had to show them he was not the one to pick on.
"Thank the devils that you know why I'm here," Fellene said as if everything was okay, but his blue eyes were betraying him. "Master, I can assure you I'm determined to protect you just like I used to do." A mischievous smile brightened his sharp features. "This way please!"
Brunos's eyes traveled down Fellene's body following the direction his arm was showing. On both his broad shoulders lay a metal protector, with three pointy antennas standing on it, the one in the middle taller than the others. It's from that protector where a red curtain originated, sliding down to cover his upper body. Brunos could tell there were abs underneath judging by how bulging the muscles on his arms were.
"There's no need to show me where to go," Brunos said walking past Fellene. "A king knows his kingdom."
"Stop!" He heard him commanding but Brunos knew what he wanted. He was eager to do whatever it took to reach the palace. Only in Valeria's sight would he survive. Based on how she asked Kagern to make her a colourful butterfly, and on how she changed the castle's name in honor of him, Brunos could tell he still had a chance with her.
"I said stop!" This time Fellene stood in front of him, his blue eyes showing some sparks of red.
Brunos chuckled. "Don't you feel ashamed of your actions? How dare you raise your voice in front of your king?"
"You have, and will never be my king!" Fellene's answered with conformity, pointing his chicken-like nail at Brunos with each word. "But since that's what you want, I can grant it to you before I show you your place." Sarcastically, he added, "My king, this servant wants you to stop."
Brunos laughed at him and said, "It's not a must for a king to do as his servants want. Do you wish to step aside, or you want me to adopt other means?" Now his voice was serious.
Despite the fury in his eyes, Fellene forced a mockery laughter. "I can't believe you're still full of yourself. What other means can a weakling like you adopt? Your aura tells me that even if I can tie myself up and tell you to kill me, you can die of tiredness before you even injure me."
If it was his first time being mocked, Brunos would have felt sad. However, thanks to 15 years of being called the ugliest creature on Earth, he knew how to react.
I laugh in front of danger.
He proved right this saying by, " Ha Ha Ha! Are you still silly? I thought since some of my blood flows in your veins you should have some knowledge of what makes a king strong? You might be as powerful as hundreds of warriors, but not as strong as my command. I have millions of servants under my command. Servants who are ready to even die for me. Do you know what's more wonderful about that?" He paused for a moment and allowed a chuckle to escape his lips. "You're one of those servants."
Based on the 'what a fuck' look on Fellene's pale face, Brunos concluded that the Brunos Fellene knew might not have been great with words. No wonder he became a drunkard the day problems surrounded him. This was going to change. The most important thing was to reach Valeria. These guys were going to pay for what they did to him.
Trembling with anger, Fellene questioned, "Why do you keep calling yourself a king?"
Brunos had mastered his FAQ about the red triangle. It was easy for him to summon it. When it appeared, he directed its light onto Fellene's face. "That's what makes me a king."
Fellene burst out laughing. Now it was not forced. "That's an old testament. I guess you don't know that Valeria is the Queen. What makes you think she will surrender her throne to you?"
'Old testament? From the Bible?'
Brunos wondered where Fellene knew that phrase. The amount of things to learn about these realms kept widening. At last he was not going to have a dormant life.
Oh! Oh!
He realized he hadn't answered Fellene. "Who told you I was planning to be a king without a queen? She's my queen. I hope you know that more than anyone. You also know why she fought for this kingdom. She wouldn't let his King's legacy fall into the hands of an enemy."
"Who are you calling an enemy? You're a traitor. The enemy of our kingdom. Our queen. If I wasn't planning to do what I didn't finish hundreds of years ago, I'm sure she was going to follow the rules and have you executed."
Chuckling, Brunos cooked a lie. "Only me knows how tight the bond between us is. What things I did to her body. Where I touch to make her moan. What I say to manipulate her. She's going to give me a warm welcome. Wanna bet?"
Seeing Fellene pissed felt like an orgasm for Brunos. He wanted to feel that way for long which he did. "Has she ever talked to you since I left? I bet not. And I'm the reason she has stopped using her mouth for talking purposes. What makes you think she's not going to use it on my lollipop? You tried to kill me. You killed Kagern because he made her remember me? Are you sure you're not the one she's going to have executed?"
As soon Brunos question-marked his sentence, Fellene reached for his neck. It was so sudden that he couldn't even react. In that instant, he felt his feet saying bye to the ground. As if dangling like a chanderliar was not humiliating enough, Fellene took away his left hand.
Brunos had seen such things many times in movies—body builders picking on weaklings—but he always criticized the screenwriters for such unrealistic scenes.
Too bad life has written one for him.
The Petite was the first to react. Fellene's big foot landed on her belly before she could even reach him. Second, his now free left hand grabbed Lilyon the same way Brunos was held. But their wings made it difficult for Fellene to grab both of them. As a result, Brunos was sent fly-rolling into the air as if he weighed nothing.
The fall was more painful than when he fell on Four ambers' Mercedes-Benz. He inhaled and excelled several times before yelling, "Let her alone. She has nothing to do with our war. This is an incubus' battle."
Fellene pressed Lilyon's neck even more as if enjoying Bruno's guilt and concern look. "Who told you having that worm in your pants makes you an incubus? You're too weak to be my opponent. This chick here must fight in your position since I'm sensing a blood connection between you two. Are you that cheap to insert your worm into a primitive creature like her?"
'Blood connection? Does he think I banged her? Maybe I'll but... No! No! What are you thinking when someone is dying?'
"Let her alone," Brunos said pointing at his forehead. "I can give you this!"
After catching her breath, Lilyon ran to the Petite who was still wiggling on the ground from the effect Fellene's kick. Eleanor was held firmly by Morrin and her four Auburns who had decided to be on Fellene's side. Anger and sadness could be seen on her beautiful face. Who would not while watching someone from whom she expected a child being bitten? Ha! Ha!
"Brunos," said Fellene after keeping quiet for a few seconds. "You might be weak, but your timing is still the best. This was a good day to show up since all our brothers are here. They should come and pay witness while you give up on the Red triangle. Do you want to say goodbye to them?"
At that moment, Pagern and Zeal appeared out of nowhere. Brunos recalled Lilyon's words. Fellene is the strongest of all. 'Yeah! He might be the strongest, but these guys seem more cruel,' he concluded.
