Chapter 16 - Noah the clingy fella

After checking what was wrong with the way Emily behaved, Ella finally came to a conclusion. "What's wrong with me?" Emily asked.

"Those pills you took are affecting you but I have already stopped it, so you don't have to worry." She lied.

Ella takes Raymond to her room to avoid Emily finding out.

"The herbs I gave her are affecting the compulsions you did to her, so I did a little thing to help it stop, don't worry she remembers again." She assured him.

Raymond sighs as he goes straight to his room.

...….

The next morning,

Jazlyn takes Dylan to school. It's the same Mystic Quest school, but this one is the primary level.

She did the registrations and took him to his teacher.

"Good morning Miss Robert." Mrs Anabel greets.

"Good morning,Mrs Anabel. This is Dylan. He'll be attending this school."

"Have you registered with him?" She asked.

"Yes I did. Dylan Dean Robert." That's what she has finally decided to give him and she'll send it to her parents to help her process the name.

"Okay, that's good, I'll take it from here." The teacher said,

"Okay, but let me talk to him a little." Jazz squats down a little.

"Baby? Remember what I told you this morning." She whispered in his ear.

Earlier,

At home.

Jazz prepares him for school.

"Baby, you must not tell anyone who you are, never let anyone know you're a hybrid, and always let me know if something is off at school."

He nods.

"And never take this bracelet off, it keeps what you are and protects you from the evil ones, okay?"

He nods.

"And I am also giving you another nice name, I'll add it to this one, do you like it?"

He nods in agreement.

"Do you want my surname or should I give you a different one?" She asked. 'He has been nodding since, at least this question will make him talk.'

And it did. "I like Mama's own." He finally said.

And she smiled. "I love you so much." She pecks him on his cheek.

The little boy's eyes widened as he looked at her, those eyes sparkled and Jazz laughed at his reaction.

"Aww, my baby has never been pecked before, I am such a bad mother." He holds her, "mama is not bad, she is the best." He hugs her.

Present,

She finally allowed the teacher to take him to class, as he kept on looking back till he got out of sight.

Jazz finally leaves.

"Finally, let's go, what took you so long?" Sky asked.

"She's sad to leave her little baby." Junior said as his eyes were glued to his phone.

"Let's go, I don't want to be late for class." He looks at the driver.

Later in the day,

"Will you join the cheerleading squad?" Sky asked Jazz after they finished their lessons.

"No, you?"

"I don't see myself there. I can't even imagine that." Sky hates the cheerleading squad, she finds it annoying to be jumping and clapping.

.....

They got to Dylan's school.

He is standing close to the gate waiting patiently for his mama, and doesn't want to talk to the other person who has been bugging him ever since he stepped foot in the school.

Earlier,

Mrs Anabel got to class together with Dylan.

The class is noisy, the students are making a lot of noise.

"Good morning class." She greets them.

"Good morning Mrs. Annabel." They all greeted her. The whole class became calm, as the teacher introduced the new student that will be joining them.

"Class, this is Dylan, he will be joining you all this year, hope you treat him well. Dylan, say hi to everyone." She looks at him, while the latter is not even moving his body, he is just standing there looking at them. Things turned awkward when he still has not said anything. Dylan was once a student but in a different school also a supernatural school, a boarding house, his uncle took him there, till they found out what he is and it caused him trouble, story for another chapter. He is joining them in their fifth year of staying in primary school, the final year precisely. He is a smart kid, hoping his past experience in school won't affect the present and he will be able to get back all those things he learnt before, to help him pass the exam that leads to secondary school.

The whole class stared at him, wondering why he refused to talk. "He's so cute. I like him already." One of the girls mumbles, as the girls beside her giggles. "Carla is in love with the mute boy." They giggle.

"You guys, shut it." She glares at them, making them shush their mouths immediately.

"She's so mean, oh gosh, I can't bear her at all." Sally mumbles, one of the girls that giggled.

The teacher chuckles "You guys, he is not quite used to the outside people except his family, and you all should please treat him nicely." And with that she leaves the class. Dylan was still standing there looking around if he could find any empty chair and he saw one. He walks straight to that place and sits down, as he brings out his book.

"Hey. Dylan." The boy next to him waved, which he ignored. "I'm Noah, you don't have to tell me your name, and I know that already. Can we be friends? I like you, you are quite cute and I like that."

Which Dylan also ignored and the latter kept blabbing nonstop, till the teacher came to the class to teach them till it was time for break. Dylan didn't bother leaving the class, he can't eat outside, ever since he met Jazz and became her family, and he feels so insecure about the people around him and finds it hard to trust the world except his mama.

Everybody is leaving to the cafeteria to have lunch, except Dylan and of course Noah, who won't stop annoying Dylan with his nonstop talk.

"Noah, will you join us at the cafeteria today?" one of the girls, Stacey asked. She is very sassy but everyone in the class knows that she has a thing for Noah, her fellow friends are; Sally Junior, Purity Johnson, Lily Michel, Olivia Stan, and Lisa Lowell.

"No I won't." He replied to her. As the other girls groaned, he always had lunch with them. The sassy group and sometimes whosoever that invites him to their table, he basically chooses not to have a particular friend, his reasons are best known to him. The girls leave as some stare at Dylan.

"Won't you go for lunch? You can have mine if you don't want to go." He brings out his lunch. "My mom always prepares my lunch before going to school, I don't like the ones they make in the cafeteria." He said. But still Dylan didn't say anything as he faced the book that was in front of him.

"If you don't like this one ,I can get you one in the cafeteria. " still no response. "Since you don't want any I'll eat my lunch here while I keep you company, you can't stay alone, it's not good for your health." He said as he ate his food.

"You don't have to." Dylan finally talks, that's a sign, right?

"Oh, finally I heard your voice though I'll never hear it. I'm so happy to be the first one hearing it." He smiled as he ate his food happily.

And ever since then he has been hovering around Dylan like a bee, till he got to the gate to wait for his mama.

"How old are you? I'm twelve years old." Noah smiles as he moves closer to Dylan, while the latter shifts away from him. "Don't come too close to me." He said "and I'm eleven years old."

"That means you're younger than me, with just one year ." He laughs as he jumps around "and why are you so short, i was hoping you're eight or seven, i can even carry you, your height is really cute" he laughs again as the latter glared at him. Dylan is short, more reason he easily clings to Jazz everytime. "That's good to know, so now you're talking to me that can only mean one thing, we're friends now, right?"

"I never agreed to that." Dylan looks away. "Oh don't be shy, I know we're friends now, don't worry, you don't have to say it out loud, I'll give you time to get used to it." Noah assured him.

Dylan ignores him as he patiently waits for his mama. He doesn't want to get involved with people. But this guy here seems so cool and he likes it, but he is choosing to ignore it, he won't let history repeat itself.

Meanwhile,

Someone has been watching them since. Carla is sitting on the bench close to the school garden as she watches those two the way they interact. To her one is the noisy one and the other is the quiet one. Ever since she saw Dylan she couldn't get things together. She watched as he talked and the way he ignored the other noisy one. She knows Noah, but not so well, he hardly talks to people and the girls in the class always like to get his attention. She once liked him, but that wasn't for long.

Now her full attention is drawn to Dylan and she knows that she doesn't stand any chance of talking to him, in fact nobody stands any chance talking to him except you'll have to behave like Noah to get a few words from his mouth. But she hopes that she will get that chance one day. "It's too early to start stuff like this, I'll just watch and observe him from afar till I get that opportunity to talk to him." She mumbles.
