We stopped at the black bungalow that looked nothing less than a prison for notorious criminals.
From the windshield, I could see my parents standing at the front door but they probably wouldn't see me even if they tried since the windows were tinted but I wish they could. I wish they could have seen how disappointed I was.
I was no longer mad at them because what they had thought was a punishment to me actually turned out to be a blessing. I ended up with a loving husband who was still hiding a lot of secrets from me but that look on their faces… that smile, I knew it was fake.
I remembered the expression they had on their faces when I was given off to Dav, it was mocking but now, why do they look like they were happy to see me? Or was it just a pretense because of Dav's presence?
"Wife… wife, aren't you getting down?" Dav said to snap me out of my thoughts, only to be welcomed by four pairs of black eyes staring at me.
