~The majority of this chapter is just about the system interface it is helpful to the story and will act as a guideline for me to follow and for you guys to understand the system more.~
Today was another cold morning. It's been like that for the past year despite warnings that summer may be its hottest yet. Boy were we wrong.
Scientists finally know why it's so cold. The planet's core has been transferring massive amounts of energy to another form, reducing the temperature of the surface. Why exactly this is happening and what form of energy is being transferred is unknown but it is suspected that it may be an extra-dimensional form of energy undiscovered by humans.
The more pressing matter, however, is that in the next few months, the conversion of thermal energy drops the temperature of the earth to uninhabitable levels. This information is of course kept hidden from the public so as not to arouse widespread panic.
******************************************************
"It's far too cold for school so we have online lessons, sucks I can't meet up with you guys but at least we don't have to go out there," Liam says looking out the window next to him before continuing with a discord call with his friends that ran simultaneously with the school's online lesson.
Suddenly his vision blurs before becoming completely black. No sounds are heard either. Liam shouts but even he can't hear his voice as if he never said it in the first place. Now a voice rang in his head the same one he'd imagined when reading a novel with a system.
[New World detected - Planet Earth]
[Energy transfer complete - ^*!**$*%*%&*!*? units of energy]
[Spacial integration complete - Welcome to World OX-98654-B]
[Energy surplus detected]
[Transforming surplus into 'talents' for dominant species + 3 vassal species]
[Recognised dominant species - Homo Sapiens]
[Vassal Species - Canis Lupus; Felis Lybica; Corvus Corax]
[Tranfer + Transformations complete]
Liam opened his eyes, he wasn't in his room anymore. He was outside, it wasn't cold but he was alone in the middle of a grass-covered meadow. From the system messages he just received and his knowledge of various novel plots, he understood that Earth has just been assimilated into a new world. Being the most intelligent 16-year-old in his nation and his excessive enthusiasm for science let him connect the dots between the core's massive energy transfer and the situation now. The system, however, remained a mystery to him but he acted under the assumption that it was some form of dimensional/universal will.
He quickly remembered that he should have a talent and tried to access the system through his mind. 'Access System' he said in his mind.
[System accessed - Please select options to use more functions]
[Options]
At once he had confirmed that this was some form of universal will. 'Otherwise' he thought 'Some creature has been reading my mind this entire time.'
Liam quickly selected Options and more functions appeared before him.
[Status]
[Log]
[Personal Diary]
[Store]
[̶M̶i̶s̶s̶i̶o̶n̶s̶]̶

[Territory Menu]
He was greeted by a plethora of functions and decided to check them out one by one.

[Talents]
⤷ [Time Manipulation - SS+]
[User can control the temporal flow within their territory. As the user's proficiency and rank increase the degree of control within the territory increases and limits weaken - can be used outside of the territory upon reaching high enough proficiency and rank.]
⤷ [Assimilation - Ex (Maximum)]
[In the event of a successful conquest over territorial land, assimilate territorial abilities and increase the grades of said abilities. The user may also obtain talents, bloodlines and skills from individuals - these are also enhanced. Others with this skill may have varying grades.]
⤷ [Bloodline - G (growth)]
[All species gain this talent. Individuals can improve their bloodline or obtain other bloodlines to strengthen this talent.]
With the rush of information, Liam had to take a few seconds to digest the information and try to comprehend it. To confirm some things he asked the system for clarification.
'What do the stat numbers reference to and can I get a list of probabilities for the talents?'
[The values after categories such as physical abilities and intelligence are in reference to your own species where the average is 1, whereas numbers after the energy represent a set quantity of said energy calculated in a universal metric]
[Talents are separated into different grades ranging from G- to Ex. Each of these grades represents the rarity and/or capabilities of a talent and these grades can also be present in skills, abilities and equipment]
[{G- 0.00005% } {G 100%} {G+ to F+ 75%} {E- to E+ 40%} {D- to D+ 25%} {C- to C+ 10%} {B- to B+ 3%} {A- to A+ 1%} {S- to S 0.2%} {S+ 0.05%} {SS- to SS 0.0075%} {≥SS+ Undefined}]
'This should make it easier to determine the worth of an item.'
'Oh right why is my intelligence in the triple digits then?'
[... User is a genius *cough* by human standards *cough*]
'Oh … I knew that already but cool I get proper confirmation, but that last comment was quite rude and since when can a system cough.'
'Everything else is quite obvious so I'd like to access the Log,' Liam opened the log and found that the system logged its messages from his earlier blackout to his access of the log just now.
'Simple enough, now personal diary should be somewhere for me to write down my thoughts but I'm guessing the system/universe's will sees it all, so lets check out the store for now.'
[Store]
⤷ [System-based Trading]
[Users can exchange items with each other privately]
⤷ [System-based Auction]
[Users can auction items with the help of the system]
⤷ [̶D̶a̶i̶l̶y̶ S̶t̶o̶r̶e̶]̶
The daily store and the [Missions] function couldn't be accessed. Liam acknowledges that he has to reach a certain threshold to use them. The [Small-Scale Inventory] function was pretty obvious but for the time being, it only contained one item [Territory Token - dropped upon death]. Upon seeing the token Liam wanted to access the Territory Menu directly, but decided it was best to go through the Relationship function first. He had a feeling the territory function would take a great deal of his time.
[Relationships]
⤷ [Family]
⤷ [Friends]
⤷ [Enemies]
⤷ [Neutral Acquaintances]
⤷ [Organisations]
⤷ [Genetic-based search]

Shocked at this function he now knew that he could easily find his friends and family.
Liam immediately started using [Genetic-based search] to find his family.
[Genetic-based search]
[Due to limitations based on rank and privacy you can only use this function with your genetics as a reference. Would you like to proceed?]
'Yes'

'They'll probably respond soon enough, but for the time being, let me add my friends'
