The black man was not joking. His demeanor soft now as if he understood his feelings - as if he was sympathetic towards him.
"I was Clara's ex-boyfriend. For two years. From 2016 to 2018."
Another man in the group with a pair of glasses said, "I was her ex for one year from 2018 to 2019."
A very thin man stood up although he was already tipsy and declared that he was Clara's ex-boyfriend from 2019 to 2020. Other three: one fatty, one beardo - the bartender of Hello bar which was frequented by his wife, one Indian guy also declared the same.
Lupin said, "But she was my girlfriend from 2016 to 2022 and wife for last one year."
Everyone sympathetically looked at him. The black man patted him again.
Lupin completed his drink and stood up and shouted, "Whatever you'll say I'll blindly believe you?"
The black man said, "We were there too."
"EVAN, COME HERE YOU..." shouted Lupin. Before he could finish his sentence Evan was standing beside him.
"Behave kiddo."
"I was stressed, that's why I joined your party and you're playing games with my emotions!"
"Kiddo, like always you misunderstand me."
Lupin shouted again, "Stop calling me kiddo, you're only three years elder than me. I thought you're like my elder brother today. But you shattered everything."
He stormed out of the party.
