Alistair's annoyance boiled as he faced Eltic, Elina's half-sensei/father, with his smug expression that grated on Alistair's nerves.
"Isn't this a surprise? You are still standing while all the big, strong, omniscient adults are retching on the floor."
Eltic taunted, observing Alistair while holding him by the arms. "Makes me think, are you an Outsider or something, boy? If not, there's no reasonable explanation for your awakeness. No, you can't be one—you are very much flesh. I saw your birth. So what is it? What are you, Alis?"
His fingers strayed to his chin as Alistair rotated around himself.
He didn't notice anything in him that would cause this bizarre case.
So was it luck?
A mere circumstance?
A coincidental coincidence that only happens in 1-in-a-million?
Eltic scoffed at such a thought. Why would he believe such an impossible phenomenon? Luck works, but there's a limit to it, right?
