They all stood facing their teacher, waiting for his disciplinary talk.
"Jeremy doesn't know anything about this, Sir." Hailey broke the silence.
"You're excused Jeremy." the teacher said not sparing him a glance.
Jeremy left, and teacher still didn't say anything. Finally he sat up.
"Natasha? What should I do with you? How can you cheat and bully your classmate....with your friends?" Natasha wanted to talk but he signaled her to stop by raising his hands. "Ivan and Hailey decided to not talk, right?"
He sent Natasha and his friends to help cleanup the cafeteria and library _ which was like a nightmare to them. Then gave Hailey and Ivan detention.
"Detention!!" Jeremy exclaimed.
"What is it?"
"I was planning we could go some places after school, now it's ruined for the next 6 school days."
"You could come with me you know."
"I don't want to hear about your detention again."he said and Hailey laughed.
"Well, I'll be with Ivan....the hot Ivan." she chuckled.
"It's not like he'll be glued beside you." he paused. " There are plenty seats." he completed and they laughed.
Natasha and her friends were not taking it lightly.
"Hailey will pay for this." Natasha growled.
"Why would he make all of us do it, it's not like we're the culprit." Becky said and Natasha glared at her. "I mean we only knew about it like Ivan and Hailey, we should be in detention, not this." she whined.
Hailey came inside the detention room and froze. The room was filled, except for a desk at the back near the wall. And guess who was beside her? Ivan! She gulped.
"Hi." Ivan greeted as she settled down.
"Hi. Umm ...the room is so filled today."
"This is how it's usually is most times, you know most of our teachers are strict on discipline." Ivan said and Hailey nodded.
"This is actually my first detention as a student, so I don't know much about it."
"Welcome then." Ivan smiled.
"Ivan, this is not a chat room. You wouldn't want extra days." the supervisor called out to him.
An hour later, Hailey was tired and sighed as she looked out the window.
"You'll get used to it." Ivan said, his eyes fixated on his book.
"I don't want to." she pouted.
"You still have 5 days though...so."
"True. I didn't know it'll be so tiring and I've done all my home work. " she took a deep breath as the fresh breeze flew past her.
The second day, she came and sat beside the window again as she already love that spot, but Ivan also came and sat beside her. He told her that it was his favorite spot too.
"You must have been in here a lot of times." Hailey was curious.
" Yeah, you could say that." he chuckled.
Hailey became comfortable talking with Ivan; who felt cold and withdrawn, and not much of a talker, and also most of her classmates. It wasn't as hard as she thought and she hoped they would not move again, especially now she felt more adapted than ever.
Natasha and her friends went to ask for detention for the remaining three days, but their teacher wouldn't budge.
"I heard Ivan and Hailey has been sitting together so far. Are they like bonding?" Chloe asked, which was in fact directed to Natasha.
"She must be trying so hard, but Ivan would have nothing to do with her." Natasha said.
Natasha blew over when she saw then sitting together again and felt like she has been trampled on. She went to the Principal's office and was in the detention room after school on Hailey's spot.
Hailey came in to see who has occupied her space, glaring at her. She found another desk and sat down.
"Ivan, I wanted to...." she was caught midair.
"This is not a chat room Natasha, and I don't want to get extra days." Ivan warned.
"But you talk with Hailey, you didn't even say hello to me."
"Is that why you're here? Because you heard I talk with Hailey? " he scoffed. "I bet you didn't consider if we were talking something important."
"I bet you didn't also consider if mine would be important."
"You can tell me after detention hours." he said with a tone of finality. Natasha rose angrily, hitting her hand on desk, completely forgetting where she was.
"That's it. Both of you out here." the supervisor shouted to them.
"I'm sorry Sir, it won't happen again. She was just angry I lost her stuff." Ivan pleaded.
"This is your last warning." he said to them after a long glare.
Natasha saw how Ivan glanced up to Hailey a few times and totally lost it. She went to her after detention hours.
"Hailey can you spare me a sec?"
"What is it?" Hailey clearly knew it was trouble.
"Nothing. What are you trying to do?"
"About?"
"Ivan. Are you trying to seduce him or something? I know you must be trying so hard, but just quit being a nosy nerd."
"Huh?" Hailey scoffed.
"You heard me. Look here. You should be a good girl or..." she was cut off as her hand made her way to pat Hailey's head.
"Or what Nat?" It was Ellie. "Get your hands off her."
"Look who's back. Are you done sulking, huh? I see you even made a friend." she laughed.
"I'm done sulking, and I made a friend you wouldn't mess with." Ellie walked up to her face "You're pathetic."
Ellie grabbed Hailey's hand and they left.
"I didn't know you'd still be in school." Hailey said.
"I was waiting for you. You shouldn't be talking to Natasha, she kills with her words." she warned.
"Yeah, she's mean." Hailey nodded.
"What did she say?"
"She said umm... she thinks I'm trying to seduce Ivan." she said and Ellie laughed.
"She likes Ivan but Ivan doesn't. I mean from how everyone sees it."
"Why would she think I'm hitting on Ivan. I mean it's detention, right?
"Oh, you didn't know right? Tsk, tsk."
"Know what?" Ellie was dying to know.
