While she slept, he was awake watching her. It was very stupid of him to do that considering what she meant to him. But here he was, keeping a guide and waiting patiently for the demon bold enough to try visiting her again.
Adrik hasn't felt more possessive of anyone until he saw that mark on her neck. It gives him the idea that he was in for competition but he isn't planning on losing this time around. Maybe it has to do with his ugly pass, he lost Polina and that was a stupid mistake on his part.
He should have left the country with her after escaping with her, from the prison called her home. But, rather he had choose to listen Polina panicking about leaving. The fear that her father might hurt them if he finds out, had cost him the love if his life.
But right now, he had conquered that fear and turned it into something more useful. He wasn't afraid of what tomorrow might bring to his doorsteps, considering what Narika was.
