(Rui's Pov)
"But why can't I go back?" I questioned him again. This guy was telling me about everything except the one thing I wanted to know.
"Yokais kill exorcists and absorb their Ki to become stronger by converting it into negative energy. If you go back, Yokais will follow and your life will be in danger," he answered to me while smoking his cigarette.
"I can take care of myself. You guys don't need to worry about me," I replied. They aren't my babysitters. I don't need someone's help to survive. I have survived this long on my own and I can continue to do so.
"In all honesty, we don't care if you live or die. If you die it will be more beneficial for us since we want Kusanagi back. But if you go back, people around you will be in danger. That's why you need to stay here."
"Yokais can take over human bodies so that's why we need to kill them before they mix themselves into human society," he said while explaining to me the reason why I can't go home.
Is this guy serious? Does this mean Yokais are roaming in our society in the form of humans? That sounds scary. Imagine living with a Yokai while not knowing about it. Damn, I am speechless.
"I see, so can I go back when I am strong enough to protect the people around me?" I asked again. I was hundred percent serious about it. I didn't want to waste my life fighting some monsters.
It wasn't my job and I wasn't an exorcist in the first place.
"Yea, you can do that," Diego san said while waving his hand at me.
"Now follow me, let me show you the room in which you are going to stay while you are here. This place is a branch of Raijin High, which is technically a high school. So you are going to enroll here starting this semester." he said while heading towards the dorm in which I woke up.
I followed behind him. The sun had already set and it was starting to get dark. The cold breeze was blowing. Ever since I woke up, I feel like my connection with the wind has grown.
I felt my mind was at peace whenever the cold breeze was blowing. After walking for a while we came back to the dorm.
"This is where you are going to stay. Go and pick a room," he said while pointing towards the dorm.
"Ok, by the way, am I the only student here?" I asked while looking around. This place looked barren. I hadn't seen a single soul in this dorm ever since I came here.
"Yes, for now, you are the only one. The semester is going to start in a week. So all the students will arrive around that time," Diego san said while giving me my room keys.
I chose the room on the second floor in which I woke up. I really liked the simplistic look of that room. Coupled with the beautiful sunset I could see from there, it made it the best choice.
When I told Diego san that I would like to choose that room, a smile formed on his face. I wonder why.
I opened my room and got in it. Diego san went somewhere and came back after a few minutes carrying the sword I used to fight against the Yokai.
"Here, this sword over here is Kusanagi. Your partner until the day you die," he said while throwing the sword at me. I caught it swiftly.
It's a good thing that it had a scabbard on or else my hand would have been chopped off.
"Could you please give me a warning before throwing a fucking sword at me?" I shouted at him while placing the sword on the bed.
"I'll think about it. By the way, just think about keeping the sword away in mind and it will vanish. And when you want to recall it just think about taking the sword out," he said while yawning and walking out of the room.
And with that, I was left alone in the room. I did just as Diego san instructed and Kusanagi vanished.
After that, I jumped on the bed without even thinking twice. Today was very long. So many things happened today.
'I wonder how Kyoji is doing,' I thought while rolling on the bed. Since it was a dunk bed. I chose the bottom one.
'I wonder if I will have a roommate since this room has a bunk bed,' I thought while walking towards the window.
I guess I'll know about it very soon. Every room here had a bunk bed so it won't be a surprise if students live here in pairs of two.
I took a picture out of my pocket and kept it on the table. It was a picture of me and Kyoji. Even though we argue a lot, he's like a brother I never had.
'I want to contact him but doing that will put him in danger and it will ruin the surprise element as well,' I thought while a devilish grin formed on my face.
I wanted to see his face when he comes to know about what I am capable of doing.
'Oh right, I forgot to ask Diego san why I was able to see a yokai if normal people can't see them,' I thought while thinking about the reasons.
Maybe it's because I touched an Armament which enabled me to see a yokai. Well, I guess I will ask him later.
After that, I took a bath and went to sleep. I didn't even bother to get something to eat. I was way too tired to move my body anymore.
And with that sleep took over me.

(Diego's Pov)
I was walking back to Sensei's office after dropping Rui in his room.
'He really is an interesting lad,' I thought while the shrine came into view. To this day I don't understand why sensei decided to use a shrine as his office.
Walking into the office, I took a chair and sat down in front of sensei.
"What do you think about the child Diego?" sensei asked me.
