(Diego's Pov)
"What do you think about the child Diego?" sensei asked me while looking through some papers.
"He's unique. Normally when someone bonds with an armament, they pass out because of excess information. But not only did he manage to hold onto his conscience but also fought a C-grade Yokai," I replied to sensei.
"That means he has a strong mind," sensei replied back to me.
"By the way sensei, I released 70% of my Ki yet he was unfazed by it," I said in a serious tone while looking at sensei.
Being able to withstand 70% of my Ki release is no joke. Even B-grade exorcists can't pull off what he pulled off.
"That's interesting, I have never seen that happening. He doesn't even have the power of a D-grade exorcist. How was he able to pull that off?" said sensei in a shocking tone while thinking about something.
"If I knew how he was able to pull that off, I would have already told you," I said to sensei in a mocking tone. If I knew how Rui did that, I wouldn't have informed him about it in the first place.
"You and that mouth of yours haven't changed even after so many years. I don't know how he did that as well. I guess we will know about it when the time comes," replied sensei in a philosophic tone.
Even though he said that, I knew that he knew something about it. I have known sensei for years. I can tell when he's hiding something.
Since he isn't going to tell me anything, I guess I'll figure it out myself.
"Ok, I am going now sensei. Don't die too soon," I said while walking out of the room.

(Rui's Pov)
[Next Day]
"This place really is quiet," I said while stretching my hands. I just woke up and was welcomed by the chirping of birds.
This place was really quite unlike my house. When my grandpa died, he left his house behind me. Just like me, he had no family.
Since the house was located in a shady area, the nights there were far from peaceful. People used to drink and gamble all in the alleyways.
Because of this, I was never able to sleep properly at night. But unlike that place, there wasn't a single soul here. And the air felt way fresher than the air of the alleyways.
Ever since I was a child, I have loved nature. According to me, it's the most beautiful thing in the world. Whenever I used to get sad, I used to go up the hill behind my school to get some fresh air.
That's where I met Kyoji as well. One day, while going to the hill I came across him. He had many bruises and his lips were bleeding.
I helped him. At first, he was wary of me but after some time he opened up. Later he told me that he got those bruises while fighting a gang of high schoolers.
Ever since then, I have been scared of him. I don't want to get on the bad side of a guy who can take out a high school gang alone.
'Now that I think about it, it was the first year of middle school. Good old memories,' I thought while getting out of bed. I wanted to take a bath but I didn't have any spare clothes.
So I just washed my face and decided to go for a walk. When I stepped outside of the dorm a beautiful morning breeze welcomed me.
There were hardly any people in the school since it was quite early in the morning. After walking for a while I came across the playground in which I was yesterday.
Without thinking twice I went into the playground and sat on a swing. Swings were my favourite ride. It was where I met my grandpa.
Unlike others when I was born, there was nobody to take care of me. I did everything I could to survive in this forsaken world.
Stealing, eating from dustbins, fighting with dogs for food, and whatnot. I did everything as long as it ensured that I could survive.
I used to sleep in a park like this. Whenever parents of children used to see me, rather than giving me some pity or food, they used to throw rocks at me.
Whenever they looked at me I could see the disgust in their eyes that they held for me. When their kids used to beat me up for fun, rather than scolding them they used to blame me.
One day, I was sitting on the swing just like this one. I hadn't eaten anything for 3 days.
Then an old man came and looked at me. I thought I was going to be beaten up again.
But to my surprise, he asked me if I was hungry. Since I hadn't eaten anything for 3 days, I said yes without a heartbeat.
He took me to a shop nearby and fed me. After that, he took me to his home. Any sane person wouldn't follow a person to his home.
But since he was the first person who showed me kindness ever since I was born. I followed him. He bathed me and bought me new clean clothes to wear.
He took me in and looked after me until the day he died. He died when I was 12.
'If it wasn't for a swing like this, I would have never met him,' I thought while tears started flowing out of my eyes.
"Why is it suddenly raining?" I said while wiping my eyes off. I missed him but I can't act weak. Not in such a forsaken world.
After sitting on the swing for a while I jumped off and went into the middle of the playground.
Taking a deep breath in and placing my hand forward I said, "Kusanagi."
As soon as I said that, a sword started to materialize out of thin air. It had a black handle with a bluish-black blade which was covered in a golden-blue scabbard.
