Lucifer exited the medical center and headed to his home in a hurry.
On the way back to his hut, everyone was pointing at him, gloating and laughing, and no one would come near him.
Everyone who saw him in the base was looking at him as if he were a monster.
Normally, when an ordinary person arrives at the base, even if he were poor, if his skills were not too bad, he could always find some companions and kill a few savage creatures together, and he would be nowhere near as miserable as Lucifer is.
However, in the entire base, no one was willing to associate with Lucifer at all, and neither did they have the attitude to.
The beast wave had reaped the lives of about thirty people. Half of those casualties were from the recruits who had joined the battle.
Just as Lucifer cornered at the alley near the bushes to his home, he was suddenly jumped by a bunch of guys who grabbed him forcefully.
The violently slammed his face against an iron wall nearby, making Lucifer groan in pain.
"Bang!"
He couldn't even see what was happening but he knew who exactly they were - the Death Ball gang.
A group of recruits that had been tormenting Lucifer's life ever since he had arrived at the Base. They loot spoils from people who had worked hard to get the flesh of beasts and steal from people who managed to hide and as though it wasn't enough, they beat whoever they find unpleasing to their sight.
It wasn't that the Base wasn't aware of this group of recruits, it was just that the rules here were different than that of the outside world. Here, only the strong is respected, and the weak would only be fed and preyed on like a weak mouse.
Therefore, the Base didn't sort the group of recruits out.
A dark-skinned, half-muscular young man with a full body tattoo on his face and arm whistled as he walked closer to the scene with hands in his pockets.
His dark glasses drew downwards as his grey eyes squinted at the sun's rays.
"Well, well, well. Look who finally decides to show up." He smirked as he stared at Lucifer from top to bottom.
The two young recruits that seem to be a year below twenty turned Lucifer around, pinning him back to the iron sheet.
Lucifer didn't struggle and his eyes were extremely calm as though he had experienced this a thousand times.
"Have I told you how much I hate your eyes?" Bayne suddenly spoke. And without waiting for Lucifer to respond, he punched directly at Lucifer's stomach.
"Ugh! Cough!! Cough!!!" Foaming spit and a bit of stomach fluid spaced Lucifer's lips.
Suddenly Lucifer raised his head.
"Bang! Crack!!"
Lucifer immediately head-butted him.
Blood spouted out from Bayne's nose as he bleed to the ground and he staggered backward from the resultant force.
Shocked, the guys pinning Lucifer down punch his stomach with full force, making Lucifer double over.
Feeling the blood flowing through his nose in his shirtless body and hand Bayne's eyes reddened.
"I will fvcking kill you!" He grabbed Lucifer by his hair, hustling him up.
"Bam! Bam! Bam!"
Bayne punched and kicked Lucifer to the floor until he was satisfied. Giving him a last kick, he withdrew backwards, holding in tightly to his nose in one hand.
"You motherfvcker!"
Lucifer groaned in pain as he struggled to his feet.
Suddenly, a laugh escaped busted lips.
"Ah-zeh yuh numberzz za low."
Bayne glared at Lucifer coldly as he asked. "What was that?"
"I see your numbers are low," Lucifer repeated with a more vibrant laugh.
Bayne's eyes darkened. It was true, his gang had received a huge hit three days ago. Most of his members are either crippled or in the belly of a Vile Wolf. Even he had almost lost his life!
His recollection of that day still gives him shivers especially the pupils of the alpha Vile Wolf. If it hadn't been stopped, no one in the base would have been safe.
With a violent kick, he kneed Erian in the guts, making him spit blood out.
"Hold him up!" Bayne commanded to his remaining lackey then grabbed Lucifer by the jaw.
"You are the greatest scum to ever live! While we were at the battlefront, resisting the beast wave, you went into hiding like a turtle in a shell. Do you think you deserve to live?"
Lucifer's face immediately paled slightly as he knew the meaning to Bayne's words. "Murder in the base will warrant being expelled out in the wild!"
Bayne laughed coldly. "Do you think you have any right? Who would know if I kill you? Moreover, everyone in the base including the Base Master knows how cowardly you are. Therefore if news comes out that I killed you, they will never expel a Genetic soldier with talent because of some useless piece of human."
Lucifer's heart tightened but his face remained emotionless as he asked. "You have undergone your first evolution."
It was more like a statement than an actual question.
Bayne smiled evilly "You are more observant than I thought. Seven of the recruits evolved because of the battle three days ago. There was an abundant amount of wolf flesh. Only problem was that they were disgusting."
Removing a short knife from his waist. He traces the edge of the knife against Lucifer's neck with a devilish smirk on his face.
"B-Bayne, you really want to do this?" One of the lackeys nervously asked.
"Shut up!"
Applying more pressure, the blade pushed further against Lucifer's skin. Strangely, the blade wasn't able to pierce through his skin!
A Timsacus blade, specially crafted by a renowned blacksmith and known for its sharpness and ductility actually couldn't pierce through human flesh?
Bayne frowned, applying twenty percent more of his force. However, it was as though Lucifer's skin was made out of crocodile skin instead of human flesh.
"What!?"
Bayne couldn't believe it suddenly drew back the blade and immediately stabbed strongly at Lucifer's neck.
