The moment the yo-yo touched the ground, all the energy it collected exploded all around.
Half the monster's head got blown off, while Devlin couldn't react fast enough and got caught in the explosion.
A white light flashed in his eyes as he felt his body becoming lighter. The front part of his body burned away, showing his muscles and bits of his bones.
Falling from such a high level, Marcus was quick to catch him.
'Idiot!' Marcus thought, "Don't go out on me now!" He yelled at Devlin, "Where can I find a doctor?!"
Elvie just stood there, watching Marcus yell. It glanced down at its hand, watching it glitch away. It sighed, turning its head towards the rift.

Devlin slowly opened his eyes, glancing down to see his old bike he had never seen in such a long time.
'I'm back?' He thought, feeling like it was a dream. Part of him didn't believe it was true, but feeling the pain disproved it, 'My face.. why does it feel like it is burning?' He touched his face, feeling nothing odd about it.
He slowly pushed the bike off his legs, feeling rather numb. Glancing up, he saw the kid leaping off his hoverboard, and running to him.
"Dev!" Hearing that familiar child-like voice, calling him with such worry, he could feel tears welling up, but quickly wiped them off as he tried getting up by himself, "Woah, there, mister hotshot." The kid quickly swung an arm over his shoulder to support him. He glanced at Devland with a grin, "Told ya so, you would crash."
'Dex..' Devlin thought, seeing his brother being so happy, he chuckled, "Thanks for…." He glanced away, feeling unable to meet Dex's in the eyes, "Catching me.."
"Anytime, what's being bros for?" Dex supported him till he reached a nearby branch, "I will go get your bike."
Devlin nodded as he leaned against the branch. He looked ahead at the small city.
Most buildings don't go any higher than ten stories, and there weren't any floating buildings that signified it was a technological city. It looked like a normal city except with shorter buildings, with people bustling all around the streets.
It felt nostalgic, to be back here. Everything felt like it would disappear like an illusion, but here it was still standing.
"What happened?" He mumbled to himself while glancing up. He held his head, 'I only remember that I wanted to close the rift gate...' His eyes widened, 'My memories.. there's holes..'
Images of the past flashed through his mind, but he couldn't replay most of those moments properly.
'I was trying to find someone to build something.. called a BoltLock?' His hand moved up, placing it between two of the tallest buildings, his eyes glanced towards one of them, 'Wasn't that building destroyed from the first experiment?' He frowned, 'What first experiment?'
His brows frowned, staring at the building.
/// "I don't want to run again!" ///
That one sentence caused him to hold his head in between his hands, feeling like it would explode.
/// [ Pew.. ]///
He gasped for air, feeling his heart racing. He pinched his nose bridge, wishing the headache would go away.
He turned and knocked his head on the branch, each hit felt like it was bringing him back to reality.
"Dev!" Dex pulled him away from the branch, seeing his bloody forehead, "What are you doing?!"
Devlin stared at his brother, and for some reason, he felt something heavy weighing on his heart.
"Just.. a headache I wish would go away.." He replied, glancing towards the sky.
"And hitting your head doesn't make it go away.." Dex crossed his arms, "Let's go home and get you bandaged up."
Devlin nodded and slowly stood up with shaky legs.
Deem-
He felt as if a chill went down his spine, hearing that familiar noise. A beam of energy that seemed to come from him shot forward into the sky.
Devlin's eyes narrowed, 'Is that.. a rift?'
A bright star shot down towards the sky like a shooting star. It split apart, and the sky seemed to rack. Lines split from the middle, and what looked like another world revealed itself briefly before it turned dark again. It looked like an artwork in the sky.
"Can you still ride your bike?" Dex asked, pulling the bicycle towards him, "Let's go home and get you patch up.."
"Yeah.. I can still ride." He held the handle, feeling it was solid, "Let's go.."
Dex quickly got on his hoverboard and waited for his brother. Devlin started pedalling, and Dex rode beside him.
Devlin kept occasionally touching his face, and then his chest. It felt like it was hot, but when he touched it, it was cold.
He looked at Dex, who took a turn into the edge of the city and saw the alleyway.
///"Nothing. You can just return it the next time you meet him." ///
The two stopped and kept their vehicle.
"Let's go," Dex said, being the first to jump in one of the trash bins.
Devlin stared down at his feet, realising he had his hover shoes on, 'Can I hover down?' He thought, 'That's a dumb idea..'
His eyes accidentally glanced at an old puddle of water near his feet.
What greeted him was a young boy with unkempt messy hair that reached near his shoulder and a young face that lacked the scars he had. He touched his face, seeing it was alright after all.
"I'm going crazy.." He mumbled and jumped into the bin, making sure to cover when he slid in.
