Micah and Baldas walked back toward Vanitapolis. Micah mulled over what Baldas had said since he found it a little hard to believe. But the more he thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed.
Hell had existed either since the beginning of time or since the beginning of humanity, whenever that was. Micah wasn't very knowledgeable about that. Either way, Hell had existed for a long time, and an unfathomably large amount of people had died during that time. Some had probably gone to the Good Afterlife. But Micah was willing to bet that most of the ones who died ended up in Hell. That was simply how humans were as beings, full of sin.
That many humans, as well as all the demons who existed in Hell, needed to be kept in control, or Hell would lose its balance, and the universe would collapse. That was already happening, which was proof that something had gone wrong. If Micah had to guess, the number of humans exceeded Hell's capabilities.
