Chapter 42 - The building (mass release-ch2 )

Leaving his parents' place behind, Ezekiel felt a heavy weight on his shoulders as he carried Nathan who was still sobbing.

He knew he had to find a safe place for Nathan, somewhere away from the chaos and danger that surrounded them.

His destination was a small café nearby, where he could blend in with the crowd and discreetly keep an eye on the television.

Ezekiel carefully settled Nathan in a booth, holding him close as the little boy rested his head on his shoulder. It was a moment of solace amidst the turmoil they were facing.

As he glanced at the television, a sense of apprehension gripped Ezekiel. The red announcements scrolling across the bottom of the screen confirmed the gravity of the situation.

The news was making waves in the government, creating a frenzy that he couldn't ignore.

The report highlighted the discovery of the device created by his parents, a device capable of tracking individuals with supremacy. The implications were enormous, and it sent shockwaves through the population.

The government's interest in harnessing and controlling such powers was evident, and Ezekiel realized the danger it posed not only to himself and Nathan but to others like them.

As Ezekiel's gaze fixed upon the screen, his attention was fully captivated by the news report. Every word, every image seemed to intensify the fire within him.

In a momentous announcement, the atmosphere in the room became charged with anticipation as the news reporter, a poised and eloquent woman, leaned forward, her eyes gleaming with a mix of enthusiasm and gravity.

Her voice resonated with authority as she delivered the groundbreaking report that would shape the future of the nation.

"With this revolutionary invention, our country stands at the brink of a new era," she began, her gestures fluid and purposeful. Her hands moved with conviction, illustrating the significance of the technology she was about to unveil.

"Today, we unveil a solution that will enable our nation to effectively address the challenges posed by individuals displaying signs of supremacy."

Her words were underscored by a flicker of excitement in her eyes, as her hands gracefully traced an invisible path in the air, as if revealing the innovative possibilities before them.

"Through meticulous research and unwavering dedication, our brightest  minds Jasmine and Stewart Cooper have engineered a system capable of identifying and locating individuals with supremacy signs."

As the reporter continued, her movements became more measured and deliberate, mirroring the seriousness of the subject at hand. "This advanced technology will empower our government to ensure the safety and harmony of our society," she proclaimed, her hands coming together in a gesture of unity and collective purpose.

"By identifying and tracking these individuals, we can proactively mitigate any potential threats and preserve the peace we hold dear."

Her gestures carried a sense of conviction, leaving no doubt that this development was a vital step toward ensuring a safer and more harmonious society.

With the report drawing to a close. Her outstretched hand gestured towards the horizon, as if beckoning the viewers to embrace the transformative power of this technology.

"Let us embrace this opportunity for progress, united in our pursuit of a more secure future," she urged, her voice resolute. "Together, we can create a society where every individual can thrive, free from the uncertainties that arise from such extraordinary abilities."

"Empowering Equality, Embracing Justice" the reporter ended her speech with that slogan ..

Ezekiel stood on his feet, his eyes fixed on the numerous pictures of his parents plastered across the screens and walls of the café.

The images seemed to mock him, serving as a constant reminder of the pain and betrayal they had inflicted upon him and his little brother.

As he clutched the crumpled piece of paper that Xylia had handed him earlier, he couldn't help but mutter under his breath, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity, frustration, and resentment.

"Now, I am intrigued," he whispered, his words laced with a hint of sarcasm. "Brilliant brains, huh? Creating something so significant that it catches the attention of the entire country."

His eyes narrowed as he studied the map on the piece of paper, its markings and symbols indicating a hidden location.

A wave of determination washed over him, fueled by a desire to uncover the truth behind his parents' actions and the secrets they had kept hidden from him.

The café hummed with the chatter of patrons as Ezekiel made up his mind to proceed to the designated location.

Though he had a vague recollection of the place from his previous life, he never realized that there was an actual building there.

It was nestled near the outskirts of the city, close to the tranquil embrace of the forest. Choosing a path less traveled, he ventured towards his destination, wary of any prying eyes that might attempt to follow him.

With each step, his anticipation grew, and doubts crept into his mind. Had Xylia misled him? Was this just an empty pursuit, leading him to an abandoned location?

But just as he began to question his resolve, a flicker of light caught his attention in the distance. It danced in the darkness, beckoning him forward and dispelling his uncertainties.

As he drew nearer, the building came into view, revealing its existence with an eerie yet inviting presence.

It stood as a solitary figure against the backdrop of the surrounding forest, its windows aglow with a soft, warm light that contrasted against the encroaching night. The sight both intrigued and unsettled him, but Ezekiel knew he had come too far to turn back now.

Taking a moment to steady himself, he mustered his courage and approached the entrance.

The door creaked open, revealing a world of possibilities and answers that awaited within.

His footsteps echoed through the hallway, guiding him deeper into the building's mysteries. The dim lighting cast long shadows, playing tricks on his senses, but he pressed on, drawn by an undeniable pull.

As he ventured deeper into the heart of the building, he muttered: "I could feel their energy "
