Everyone could only stare in awe at Rose as she destroyed an entire army of Outers by herself. Not only did she single-handedly kill all of them, but she easily dispatched the Boss within moments. It was both an amazing and stupefying experience.
"Unbelievable…" Matt could only whisper as his widened eyes took in the magnificent sight of destruction.
At that moment, something came over him: awe! He now understood why Rose was so confident, why she was able to shoulder the responsibility of protecting them all. He realized how foolish he had been for doubting her.
The Crystal Cores around him glimmered as he looked at them. They were the spoils of war, evidence that every single Outer they defeated was real. Matt still could not believe how many cores were lying around. Just looking around, he could spot perhaps a thousand. Could the numbers be more? Most likely!
