Nicklaus picked up his phone the moment he stepped out of his bathroom. The tight cold unpleasant scowl on his face softened into a peaceful smile the moment he saw Arissa's name displayed on his phone.
He listened to his ringing phone from the bathroom and hated the sound of it, thinking it might be a call from one of his business partners.
Not wasting a second more, he went into his call log and called Arissa. Sitting on his bed drying his hair with a towel, he patiently waited for her to pick up.
"Nick," Arissa replied from the other end after a ring.
"Love," her quick reply made Nicklaus' lips curl upward into a calm smile. His face softened the more when he heard her soothing voice.
Arissa sniffed from the other end. She stood up from the hammock chair and found her way back into the nursery room.
