Chapter 46 - 46

My heart sank, I couldn't tell what he was getting at, why he intended to do that, and why he chose to force the scroll on me.

 He dropped it on the ground and walked away without looking back. I watched his back in silence till I could no longer see it, and words could not describe the immersed feeling in my spirit at that point.

 I stared at him and at the scroll, then back to where he just passed, and I was afraid because I didn't know what to do. I could pick the scroll and get into trouble but I couldn't leave it there either. 

The choice was a hard one to make but there wasn't any good option, so I picked up the scroll with my hand trembling and stared at it for what seemed like ten minutes even though it was about ten seconds.
