While the monsters were organizing themselves, Sigma saw the western gate of the city opening, and then dozens of the enemies began to leave and run toward them. Their speed wasn't enough to catch him and Lucy at their top speed, but they couldn't run that fast since they were there to buy time. The confrontation was unavoidable…
"What now?" Lucy asked.
"We keep fighting until they give up," Sigma replied and then shrugged. "It isn't like we will lose much by killing those who are trying to kill us and torture one possible ally… still, I am a bit curious since there is no sign of the leader of the city yet."
"I never heard of them," Lucy said.
"Well, it doesn't matter… just make sure to keep an eye where you step and don't go too far," Sigma said and then saw the firebirds regrouping. "I can't cover you if you get surrounded."
