When Sigma saw the enemies retreating again, he honestly started to feel pissed… those things only knew how to fight when they had an advantage. They were being controlled, but it seemed that their master didn't have any basic levels of creativity or strategy.
"We are wasting time here," Sigma furrowed his eyebrows while he saw the enemies flying away.
"Well, don't be like that… we decreased their forces by a considerable margin without suffering much damage," Ed forced a smile while Eclair healed his arm.
A victory was a victory, but Sigma couldn't help but feel annoyed. It was hard to imagine that the enemies would chase him again, and that plan took two days to come to fruition… he didn't have time to waste with small fries.

Sigma checked his parameters to see what he could do about the annoyance that the enemies were causing. His aim improved quite a bit once he increased his dexterity, so maybe he should focus on sniping all of those pieces of shit. Still, he realized that he would need more strength as well to make the arrows fly faster while covering such a distance. Solving all those issues won't be something easily or fastly done.
"I will try to lure them again. You guys can recover your mana in the meantime," Sigma said.
Sabrina wanted to say that she would need more time to recover her mana, but she hated to admit it, but Sigma probably could deal with the enemies by himself while Ed focused on the shield, and she used her remaining mana to repair it. It was the best option that they had.
"... I know that this is unreasonable, but this sucks," Sabrina said after a long sigh. "Why can't we do more against those things?"
"We already can do more than most, so we can't exactly complain," Ed shrugged. "I also wanted to hack and slash those flying enemies, but I have to content myself with moving a wall of a shield."
"... We need to recover our mana. I feel that the mana of the environment changed a bit," Eclair suddenly said. "The monsters are up to something."
"Shouldn't you have said that earlier? Like before Sigma left?" Sabrina asked.
"The mana was still moving when that happened. Only now can I tell that the monsters are up to something," Eclair explained. "Also, it isn't like an ambush… it is like they are trying to lure him in since they know that we can fight back anything they throw at us while Sigma is around."
Ed and Sabrina looked at each other… if that was true, they could only hope that Sigma won't do anything stupid. He had a good head for combat and strategy, but he was a bit impatient. That wasn't unexpected, considering his age, though.
Once Sigma moved away from the shelter, he didn't see the enemies flying around anymore. They were resting on the nearby rocks and waiting for something.
"They are trying to copy us, and I guess… their master must have a bird brain as well," Sigma furrowed his eyebrows and then sighed.
When Sigma entered their territory, he didn't notice any changes in their behavior. They moved to attack the last time he had been there, but they were trying to lure him in… the trap was obvious, but Sigma wanted to deal with them that day and then go on their way. He truly didn't have any more time to deal with those small fries. Still, he wasn't crazy enough to just advance, knowing that he won't have any way out once he approached further.
"I guess I will have to do that now instead of saving it for their master," Sigma thought.
Sigma climbed the nearest rock and then chose one of the targets ahead. The monsters had split into four groups of two hundred, and they were on four different rocks. They were all around the fifth one, where their master was also supposed to be hidden behind… The closest one was four hundred meters away, and the furthest one was eight hundred.
Without any hesitation, Sigma grabbed one of his earth arrows. Then it used its mana to make the arrow level up and increase its attack while increasing the effects of the earth element. That happened, but it took a while since the arrowhead absorbed most of the mana… still, Sigma could feel that it truly had gotten stronger and heavier. Once he used eighty percent of his mana, Sigma nocked the arrow and then chose the nearest target, and then began to charge Power Shot.
"Here comes a big one," Sigma muttered while grinning.
Even before he had used more than half of his stamina, Sigma's arm was already hurting like hell… too much energy had been put into that attack, and it was way beyond Sigma's current abilities. Moreover, his endurance still was at one, so he began to suffer damage from his own attack…
