The group kept moving around, trying to block all of the enemies attacks. Eventually, Sabrina infused enough mana on the arrow to make Sigma and the horse feel much of the cold. Sigma knew that ice magic could slow down the enemy, but that much magic should be able to freeze most of them… he made a mental note to learn Water Manipulation next if he didn't find another skill worth learning.
Sabrina grabbed his shoulder to inform him that she was done. So, he quickly grabbed the arrow and then fired toward the enemy. The creature felt that something was off with that attack, but it still used only one wing to block the attack. Even from that distance, Sigma saw the eyes of the beast opening widely when the arrow passed through the blast of wind.
Sigma couldn't risk missing it, so he fired the arrow toward the easiest target… the chest of the beast. The creature flinched and then stopped moving… At the same time, Sigma used all his MP and SP to enhance his next Earth Arrow. He thought that the beast would begin to fall, but it seemed that even in that state, its ability to control the wind and fly didn't abandon the creature. The arrow pierced the chest of the monster deeply and then began to freeze the whole area around, and it almost reached the wings but soon began to crack.
"If it still can use magic… then I truly can't hold back," Sigma thought as he felt his bones and muscles cracking and ripping apart again.
The skill leveled up a lot yesterday, so it began to gain even more power and a lot faster. It was all or nothing… so, Sigma aimed at the beast's head. When he could barely continue holding the arrow, Sigma fired, and the blast once again made him almost fall. Still, Sabrina and the horse prevented him… they almost fell instead, though.
The elder Verdiris used all its might to summon a massive wind wall when the ice broke and tried to fly to the side as well, but wind magic was weak to earth. So, it easily passed through and hit the head of the beast. The creature stopped moving again, and then a lot of blood began to gush from a small wound on the beast's forehead.

It was rare for Sigma to get surprised, but fifteen level-ups deserved that much. Although his arm creeped out Sabrina, Eclair didn't look even a bit bothered by it, she was used to seeing wounds, but she couldn't even look a male in the eye or talk with them properly. Sigma wondered if Saria was also such a complicated girl.
Even after being healed ten times, Sigma's arm was taking its sweet time to heal… it looked like a bloody mess before, but now it looked like it was about to explode since it was purple.

"It just stings a bit," Sigma replied.
