The skeletons fell from the sky and then cracked into pieces like glass once they landed on the ground. Through the small hole of the igloo, Sigma and Sabrina confirmed that no one saw them and soon began to move toward their nearest targets.
"It seems that they are different from ordinary skeletons… they are a lot more frail in exchange of having a high Magic attack," Sabrina said while she was using her magic to move the igloo.
"That was naturally the case. I realized it when Lucy mentioned her battles," Sigma said. "Putting that aside, for now, long can your magic endure this?"
"I am meditating when we stop, so I am fine," Sabrina replied. "The real question is for how long you can keep going."
Sigma still had some reserve arrows, but he could only carry two quivers before their weight started to affect his aim. Still, that much was fine since they didn't have to deal with all the enemies right now, just they had to get used and decrease their numbers while they learned more about the demons. If they lose hundreds of them without doing nothing, it will confirm that they are busy and probably up to no good.
Regardless, those two circled around the area and then began to kill more ice skeletons. Sigma focused on groups of three at a time since he could hold that many arrows while firing the first. The fourth one he kept in case he missed one of the first three, but that didn't happen at all. All the conditions were good enough for Sigma, and he made good use of them.
After half an hour, Sigma and Sabrina had worked together. They disposed of fifty of the skeletons, and they didn't find any signs of enemies. Sigma was satisfied because he was getting a shit ton of experience. Still, they will have to move away from the camp a bit to hunt the others since the enemies had several lines of defense.
"Let's retreat for now. I need to grab more arrows," Sigma declared.
Sabrina also wanted a break from that since the atmosphere was quite nerve-wracking, and they didn't know when the enemies might notice them. It didn't take long for them to find the others… Ed and Eclair looked satisfied with the results of the first attack, but Lucy looked impatient since she didn't do anything.
"I didn't think that I had to say such an obvious thing, but you also need to watch our backs since we don't know when monsters might come from other directions," Sigma said while furrowing his eyebrows and looking at Lucy.
"We got rid of most of the giant penguins, and they won't come this far in the demon's territory," Lucy declared.
"I am amazed that you managed to survive for this long with this level of overconfidence," Sigma said. "I guess you two will have to work hard to make up for her."
"Hahaha… putting that aside, we already know what we have to do in case the skeletons chase you guys, but what are we going to do in case the demons do that?" Ed asked. "We have to cover our bases, after all."
"We will run away, and if they insist, I have a surprise in store for them," Sigma replied. "That being said, it would be weird if they decided to change their plans this far in the game and against a smaller group. Still, be prepared to fight since they might always go for the horses first."
That was a dreadful thing to say, but Sigma had a point… they just got a bit attached to the horses, to the point that they received names, after all. In any case, Sigma decided to rest for ten minutes, and during that short window of time, he had another idea.

"His level is a lot higher than I expected…" Sigma rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I thought that I could make them move faster, but I guess I was getting ahead of myself… still, to think that your name would appear in the status screen…"
Still, Sigma soon recalled that he could make the saddle or the horseshoes level up. It was big dangerous to make the horseshoes level up, so Sigma settled for the saddle. Still, it didn't have the parameters that he wanted… he will have to make some items himself later for the horses.
"Why am I doing this… I already have too many things to do and consider," Sigma said and then sighed.
The break was over, and then Sigma and Sabrina went to kill more ice skeletons. He still had one hundred more arrows left, and he sure hoped that he would have leveled up enough when he ran out of them to learn Mana Regeneration…
After killing a few more of the Skeletons, Sigma noticed that the beasts suddenly stooped moving and then began to just stare at the areas in front of them.
"It seems that they realized that something is off…" Sabrina whispered.
Sigma nodded… attacking them one at a time was still possible. Still, eventually, they would realize the direction the arrows were coming from. Sigma wondered what he should do to deal with that situation… They didn't have that much time to waste, so the idea had to be good since it was already noon, and they couldn't fight at night. Eventually, Sigma smirked after he had another idea…
