Suddenly, a harsh, mechanical voice echoes through the alley, its cold, synthetic tone sending a chill through the air.
"Found the culprits. Requesting backup."
Kuang Yi and Lei Shen snap their heads toward the source of the sound. A metallic figure emerges from the shadows, its body sleek and angular, just like the people that had chased them earlier. The red glow of its single eye flickers as it locks onto them. Without hesitation, it raises its arm, and a weapon of unknown design begins to hum, crackling with electricity.
"Move!" Kuang Yi shouts, his instincts kicking in. He pushes Lei Shen forward, just as a bolt of blue energy shoots from the machine's weapon with a deafening crackle.
Lei Shen barely dodges the attack, her heart pounding in her chest. "What is that thing?!"
