The next day when Lyria woke up Prince Koda was nowhere in sight most likely at training with her family.
Prince Koda now gets to spend more time with her family than she does. It's sad to think she won't be with them anymore.
Instead of being sad all day, she got up and got ready for a productive day.
She went to the shelf that holds the bamboo baskets of nuts, fruits, and vegetables. She gathered up a small portion in a wooden carved bowl and sat down to eat.
After having her fill, she cleaned up and went into her workspace.
Koda pulled her away before she could finish carving out a paw print. The idea was to thread a purple river rock next to a wooden carved paw print next to another river rock. All three pieces were to be threaded together using her white/silver hair.
The rocks were already chipped down to the right size and smoothed out with sand last night.
Today she needs at least six paw prints then get all the pieces tied together.
Lyria took a deep breath and started out by cutting the number of pieces she needed to carve.
Lyria had a creative and open mind which is very useful in what she does.
Since she's always curious, she's also very skilled in different areas. Sadly, being a healer is the only thing she has perfected.
Hunting, tracking, gardening, art, and engineering are some of the things she's picked up and does a good job at.
So putting her skills together to make a hairpiece requires more concentration from her.
A while later, Koda comes back from bathing after training. At first glance, he noticed Lyria wasn't on the bed. He sniffed around and there was no other scent besides Lyria and his so no one came in while he was away.
He listened and could barely make out slight scrapping coming from the direction of the workshop.
'She's at it again.'
He walked to the entrances of the workshop and watched the little female concentrate on carving miniature paw prints.
"I hope your family truly appreciates the time and effort it takes for you to make these for them." Koda was leaning against the wall when he spoke.
"They always have. I'm there darling female." Lyria mutters playfully.
"Have you eaten anything yet?"
"Yes, some fruits and nuts I had stored away for snacks."
"Okay. When do you think you'll be done?"
"I have to finish the one I'm on then I'll have two more to carve. I will then need your help to cut some of my hair so I can use it to tie all the pieces together."
"I will not cut your hair and no one else will be either." Koda got off the wall quickly and crossed his arms over his chest in a domineering manner.
"Don't get too upset, my hair is special. If I cut it or tear it out, it grows back to the length it was at before I cut it." Lyria proceeds to grab a small knife and before Koda could react she cuts a random strand of hair.
It falls to the ground as Koda yanked her hand away from her head and snatched the knife out of her hand.
"I just told you not to cut it." He raised his voice at her but Lyria wasn't fazed by it at all. There was a tingling feeling on her scalp and she knew her hair was growing back.
"What. How is that possible?" Koda whispered even more amazed by this little female.
"I told you it would grow back, but I need longer pieces and I can't see to cut closer to my scalp so I need your help." She didn't need the hair right then so she went back to work hoping he would help her.
Koda played with her hair for a bit while pouting.
"I think it will literally break my heart if I cut your hair," Koda whispered
"It will grow back. If it doesn't then I'll be ugly and you'll have to be my mate to make up for it." Lyria said it only to lift his mood.
"Would you still make me your mate when you're old enough?" Koda had to ask the question he was dying to.
