Lyria meets up with her other brothers giving each a hairpiece and a hug both in greeting and goodbye.
Koda takes her back to the hideout to get some rest.
"Sorry that was laid on you suddenly." Once she was tucked in he spoke.
"It's fine. Leaving the people I was raised with hurts but I'm looking forward to our next adventure." She smiles at Koda before closing her eyes and going to sleep.
Koda stayed with her till she was in a deep sleep before kissing her head and leaving to go train.
The following days felt like they lasted forever. Lyria Had to stay inside to recover so she would be strong enough to make a long-distance trip to the prince's home.
She was fully recovered but the prince didn't believe her so when the prince was out training she too was at work doing light workouts and stretches. Using her own means to get back into shape.
The more she waited around the cave, the antsier she got.
The trade center was almost over and she wasn't allowed to step foot out of the hideout. Koda has been gone more often to prepare for their journey back. I'm excited but scared at the same time.
There was not much to do and no one to hang out with. She was so bored. She was pretty much done packing her hideout. She still needed to get something from her hut on the temple grounds.
'I'll talk to Koda and see if he can help me get the rest of my things.'
It was later in the evening when Koda finally showed up with only some fish to eat.
"This is all we have?"
"This is for you. I still have things to do. Word has gotten out you've been disowned by your mother and males are fighting all over not only to find you but bothering your family about being your protector. It's chaos out there and smuggling your things out and slowly having them sent home is childish but exciting."
"I need to get some things from my hut on the temple grounds." Lyria's voice was a whisper barely heard but she needed to get the Knife her brother gifted her a couple of years ago. Not to mention a couple of other things she's invented and her record keeper.
"It's too dangerous to go out right now. I can't allow that."
"Please Koda, there are important things I need from there."
"You already have so much, what could you possibly need."
"Things that are very important to me, please Koda. If I don't get them you'll be a very frustrated beast." I tried my best to sound threatening.
"Lyria. You will be in danger. Those beastmen will not be gentle with you nor will they properly take care of you. And I'm a selfish man who is not willing to give you up." Koda walked up to Lyria and gently touches her face. "Please don't ask me to put you in danger."
"How about I make it up to you."
Koda looked at Lyria skeptically, "How do you plan to do that?"
"What if we made a deal?"
This got Koda's attention. "I'm listening."
"If you let me go, then I have to do whatever you want."
Koda thought for a second. For a child, he's impressed she would bring a deal up, but these few words showed how young and naive she is. He could make this work for himself instead.
"Alright deal. But I'll save my end of the deal for later when you're an adult." The glint in his eyes screamed future trouble.
"I want to know what you want?" She backed up and crossed her arms.
"Let's just say I really am a greedy man little cub." He tapped her nose and started to leave.
"Where are you going?"
"Sunny is the best one to help you get in and out safely. I'll find him and come up with a plan. I'll be back soon."
About an hour went by before Koda came back.
"Well, what did he say?"
"For you to meet him in your attacking spot at midnight. He said you would know where that was."
"Yes, I do. But to get to that is a little difficult and I haven't done enough movements to be in shape to do that, that prick is testing me."
"Are you sure you still want to go?"
"And miss out on this thrill, no way." I can feel the adrenalin running through me already.
Koda smirks at me, "You seem excited."
"I have always loved a challenge and he knows that but this will be a good warm-up as well. See my dad would always take it easy on me so Sunny and I would have secret practices."
"Will you need anything?"
"Just an extra sack to get the things I need. I was at the temple and then the ceremony when mom made me go home, so the things I use on a daily bases are all at my other hut. I can't leave here for almost a whole year and not have those things." There was a bit of sadness in her voice. Hopefully letting her do this will soften the blow when she leaves.
