Avery let out a long groan into her pillow. She was having a migraine from all the thinking that she had been doing.
Spring break was in a week and she was contemplating going home.
She had as well thought about staying but all her friends would leave and the place might as well be deserted
"Ugh I thought the point of this was to get away from home" she mumbled
Just then her phone started ringing.
The caller ID read Ty .
She picked up and was met with a "Hey Aves, you busy?" she opened her mouth to answer that but was cut off by an "Oh cool your not then would you mind coming to the court I need more players" once again she tried to speak but Tyler just yelled "oh and wear a tank top" and the line went dead
She sighed. He's gonna get a ball to the face that's for sure
She got and changed into a red basketball Jersey tank top and matching black short shorts, pulled her hair into two braids and pulled on an addidas dame 8.
Pondering for a while, she threw on and ash hoodie as a last minute decision.
On her way to the court, she took her time to take in the cool air, the rustling of the leaves on the trees and just her surroundings taking her sweet time to walk.
It was baffling how she could be here right now and then in other place in a few years. Time flies by so fast and you wouldn't even see the hand of the clock going.
When she was little she always wanted to stay that way enjoying all her privileges and then at a point all she wanted to do was grow up mainly because she could leave the house but now that she thinks about it, maybe to rush things isn't always the answer. She can't imagine being a mother right now to watch another generation slowly emerge leaving hers to the times when she and all her pairs would just be underground.
Bottom line she really just wants to enjoy these still young few years of her life and make the most of it.
She always thought that being a 'bad' girl was just a character for high school and college because when you leave you'll have to get a job somewhere or start up your own business and that character doesn't really fit into that criteria.... Made her question her personality..
"Aaavve I told you to wear a tank top. Wear you not listening to me on the phone?"
Tyler's voice brought her back from the grasp of her thoughts to reality making her blink in surprises that she had arrived at the court without even noticing.
She wasn't surprised when Tyler thought she didn't actually wear a tank top lookin down at her thigh length hoodie and back up she walked over to him, cocking her head innocently causing him to narrow his eyes
"Guys I don't feel safe"
Avery looked around and noticed that Jake was also here along with Hunter, Colt and of course Asher and a few other guys
Avery raised her arm causing Tyler to curl up whilst standing and squeal. The boys laughed at his reaction as Tyler slowly peeked through on eye to see she wasn't actually going to do anything to him and relaxed coughing trying to smooth everything over.
"That wasn't funny" he mumbled
Getting rid of her hoodie she saw the guys staring her down which she ignored but then a thought popped in her head
"Hey where's Chloe?"
Jake scoffed "with McCoy"
She sighed. It was like she didn't have a best friend anymore but this was college and things change.
Clearing her head of her thought the game began. It turns out that Avery was really good at basketball. She dribbled Tyler and proceeded with a fast break towards the basket and from three point, she shot making a stainless basket.
"Damn I didn't know you were that good"
Colt mentioned.
Its was her, Colt, Asher and two other guys while Tyler and Hunter were on the other team.
After a while, they heard discreet mumbling and not so quit whispers going around along with a the roaring of and engine coming towards us. We stopped and looked to see a flashy red Ferrari park just beside us on court. I saw Asher's jaw tighten and his fisted balled.
Out of the car came a woman, quite young looking and has a striking resemblance to...Asher?
"What do you think your doing here? You need to leave"
"So I can't come to see my baby anymore?, besides you've been ignoring my texts what did you expect me to do"
He growled in response "I said leave"
Please Asherón, can't we just talk for just a few minutes? Please?
Asher looked around noticing the stares and hesitantly proceeded to the car where they drove of to a supposedly better place to park.
The day ended quite quickly after that. Avery got to know Asher's friends more and realised that were really cool guys to be with.
Avery as leaving when she overheard Hunter's conversation with Colt
"Where do you think he'll be " Colt had asked
"Probably on the roof top"
"Well should we-"
"Nah give him some time he'll come around, he always does"
Hearing this Avery proceeded to the roof top of their building. Reasons? She had none
Asher sat there with a cigarette in hand staring off into the now pinkish and yellow sky. She moved quietly and sat down besides him but didn't speak a word and neither did he as he didn't even spare her a glance. A few moments passed and she decides to break the ice a little.
"So, Asherón huh?" She spoke softly
Without a change in expression, he took another drag of his cigarette before blowing out and Avery was starting to think he wasn't going to answer when he eventually did.
"Real name. My full name's Asherón but don't call me that"
He finally turned and looked into her eyes asking the question even Avery did not know the answer too.
"What're you doing here?"
