Few days later came to be the namadingo,s show that we were talking about, came from the distance through the party lights I saw a girl looking like my ex girlfriend by heart hurted.
"can't that not be Joanne? " I asked my friend I had gone to get my money from the village next to ours. I couldn't rest because the girl shined and she looked spectacular.
" She seem to be so"he replied.
I didn't want to hold back, "can't we see her close?" I asked him.
(Few seconds later before we reached the girl) "Mayor!" Someone screamed from the left side inside the show hall of which sounded like he was hit by the beer bottle. The show immediately stopped and everyone murmured "hii"
We all faced the side then we saw a gang trying to run out of the hall of which it was immediately caught up by the group of boys standing close to the hall, immediately they called the police . Going close at first looked at the victim and immediately withdrawn my eye.
" Ayise si nzako uja uyu" the guy I was with asked me( is this not your friend)? Thats when I looked at him. He was actually my roommate from the view I could tell that the guy might have been beaten because of the girl's issues because he was neither drinking nor smoking. We immediately took him to the hospital where he was given the drip of blood, he lost all his conscious. It took him 2 hours to gain conscious that's when I left to prepare food for the patient but as I was leaving the doctor sent me to buy along medicine of which we didn't have enough medicine in the public hospitals. After preparing food it was getting dark I couldn't walk again to the hospital I wanted to use matola (public transport) to get me to the hospital. Unfortunately I was surprised to hear that the transport prices have increased yesterday night from K200 to K500 due to the increase of the fuel prices. Then lately I arrived at the hospital the guy had have not been treatment yet.
Ha! I have forgotten to buy medicine actually I didn't have enough time to go to the pharmacy and buy medicine but by then it was too late I couldn't go back because the pharmacy had closed. They even took too long to have any treatment on him of which most of doctors were busy with their phones, facebook, whatsapp and other social medias.
Few hours later his relatives arrived from the village one started crying upon seeing the guy I can tell the woman was his mother because she couldn't hold back the grief. Then later the doctor came of which they gave two tablets of pain killers then she left. Around 4:00 am, we heard the guy screaming of which we could tell that something was wrong, the doctor rushed to him actually he was losing his breathe. I could feel the grief in her mama's eyes as she wiped the tears. Few minutes later the doctor covered the guy with a white garment which made his mom to be out of the words and she eventually fell down and fainted but she took few minutes to gain her conscious thats when she started crying so high because she realised that her son has kicked the bucket. The doctor confirmed the death.
We then started preparing for funeral arrangements to his village Usisya. We booked the big lorry of which it was the only car which could manage to take us through this rainy season mud impassable road actually the people of this village uses Lorries for transportation because the road wasn't good enough for these others. We hardly went through this road till we arrived at this beautiful lake view village.
The next day funeral service started I didn't want to take too long I wanted to carry up the same day because the next day we were starting our end of semester examinations. " mwenecho wakawa mwana uyo wakamudalira panyumba apa kweni sono awonani ndiyo yekha likukako ku koleji pamuzi withu uwu kweni satana wanjilirapo" the guy speaking on behalf of the family in the funeral saying he was the only trusted child and the only one who has reached the university level. After all the funeral services all the villagers went to their homes except few and family members. We started off that night reaching the place bula we all got wet with the heavy rain I could only see prayers in women and the old because the car movements had changed the road was now slippery. We all caught up with terror I could see fear in all people's eyes. Unfortunately we were stank in between the hills where the car failed to drive up the hill. It took more hours for the rain to stop of which I felt like I will miss my exams of which there was no phone network on the place to call anyone for the situation being.
It was around 5 am when the road had at least dried up we drove for 2 hours and a half to reach Mzuzu of which time was not on my side and it was heavily raining by then we tried to look for Ekwendeni transports but it took so long to carry up because the drivers wanted to fill up the sits in their taxi's first before they can carry up.
I saw my phone ringing with a new number I was caught up with fear because I felt it was one of the lectures but I was surprised to the voice of a girl.
'koma iwe ulipo? I have never seen you these last few weeks" she concluded. " eya ndilipo I have been all the way busy that is why you haven't seen me these last few weeks" I answered.
She cut off the call before I asked her who she was but I could tell it was the voice of my ex girlfriend. We carried off that same time of which it was around 9 am when I saw the text babie I need you back am Janet telling the truth I didn't like this girl's intention on me and she was going around with sugar daddies all she wanted is money I never texted her back till now.
I reached home around 9:45 AM where even though I was tired but I rushed to school where I was surprised to see none around. I thought everyone is in the class until I saw a security guard on the gate who told me that Mr Msukwa one of our lectures had died the previous day and everyone had gone to the funeral. On the other hand I was happy because I was saved from missing the exams but on the other hand I felt bad because he was one of our helpful lecture. I decided to go back and sleep to rest due to the night's adventure. I slept like a dead person for five hours.
