Chapter 13 - Romance in Provence (2)

When the two of them came out after the tour, Richard looked at Bai Yun and said, "Ho-ho, how come I only now realise that you are such a coward?" As he said this, he looked at Bai Yun's hand, which was clutching his own.

Bai Yun had been standing in the dark for a long time and heard him say that many prisoners had been detained here and many had died on this deserted island, which made Bai Yun's bones shiver. Only when he reminded him did he realise that he was still holding on to his hand, Bai Yun hurriedly let go of his hand and said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

Richard laughed and said to Bai Yun, "Ho ho, what's the big deal, but your hand is so soft and warm that I can't let it go." As he said this, he took Bai Yun's hand and took a good look at it, and somehow his soft, warm lips were on the back of Bai Yun's hand.

What was this? Was it a ritualistic kiss on the hand? But Bai Yun's heart was torn by the kiss. Bai Yun looked at Richard and heard him continue, "It was Dumas' novel that gave this deserted island its mystique, just as your romantic story made Provence even more romantic."

Hearing him change the subject, Bai Yun's nervous heart lightened and he said, "Don't make fun of me, but today I really feel like I've stepped into a novel."

Richard said thoughtfully, "In fact, everyone's life is a novel, and everyone is playing their part in their own life. Whatever the role is, it's important to play it well."

After returning from Yves Island, Bai Yun and Richard had a quick bite to eat before checking into the hotel Richard had booked in Aix City, where Richard had booked two rooms, and Bai Yun took his card and said goodnight to Richard before going to his room to rest.

Bai Yun took a shower and lay down on her bed. She thought she could fall asleep quickly after a long day, but she couldn't. She was amazed that she had come to Provence like a dream. The city of Provence was so beautiful that she was overwhelmed by its beauty. As Bai Yun is mesmerised by the beauty of Provence, she is also puzzled by the mysterious Richard, who has gone from being a ragged foreign tourist on the streets to a friend who arranges her own itineraries and hotels, and who is not only generous, knowledgeable and funny, but most importantly, has a lot of time on his hands. Who is he, really? Bai Yun thought back over everything from the first time she met Richard to now, but couldn't come up with a conclusion as to why he was so nice to her.

Before he knew it, Bai Yun had fallen asleep and slept until dawn.

In the morning, at an unknown hour, Bai Yun woke up naturally. The light and shadows were dancing happily with the sunlight, which seemed to be the masterpiece of the breeze. Looking at the white window, Bai Yun suddenly remembered that he was in a foreign country, yes, in the Provence of his dreams, but Bai Yun did not feel strange at all. Bai Yun shook his head off, knowing that he was daydreaming again.

At this moment, Bai Yun heard someone knocking at the door and knew it was Richard, but she hadn't even washed and dressed, so it was not a good idea not to open the door, so she tidied up her messy pyjamas. She ran to the door and opened it, and said to Richard, "Sorry, it's so comfortable here, I didn't wake up until now. I haven't washed up yet."

Richard was surprised to see that Bai Yun was wearing a beige silk nightgown and that her hair was dishevelled to give her a feminine look. He smiled and said, "You look so lovely when you've just woken up, lazy but gentle."

Bai Yun was embarrassed by what he said. Bai Yun said, "Maybe I'll come to you later." Bai Yun felt his heart beating faster and his face seemed to be a little hot, wondering what was wrong. Bai Yun leaned against the door and stared blankly for a moment.

She heard Richard say at the door, "After you've washed up, come straight down to the café, we'll have breakfast there."

After washing up, Bai Yun put on a pair of white washed jeans and a bohemian beige cotton shirt. After braiding her hair into two large braids, she hurried to the café to meet Richard.

Richard said, "How come I see an Oriental beauty here?"

Bai Yun said, "I find that you don't feel comfortable without making jokes about me every day. Now you're making fun of me again. I was too embarrassed to keep you waiting, so I didn't even put on any make-up, I just grabbed a piece of clothing and put it on.
