Chapter 6 - A kind heart

"I've been to many hotels and they all say that the foreign currency exchange service is only for hotel guests. The foreigner said helplessly.

"You're too tired for a whole day without food or water, so come with me and I'll buy you something to eat." Bai Yun looked at him with a pitiable look and felt that if he didn't help him, he would have a bad conscience.

"All right then, you buy me something to eat and I'll pay you in dollars." When the foreigner saw how kind Bai Yun was to help him, a smile appeared on his face.

Bai Yun didn't say anything, but after a short while, he arrived at the shop where Bai Yun often ate dumplings. The shop is ordinary, without much decoration, the shop sells nothing but dumplings, rice noodles, noodles and other things, the price is not expensive, a dumpling 5 yuan. "Here we are, sit down, can I order you one of my daily dumplings? Or do you want something else?" He said he could order whatever he wanted, as long as there was food. Bai Yun greeted him as he sat down and ordered two dumplings.

"What's your name?" Bai Yun said.

"Richard, and you? What's your name?"

"My name is Bai Yun. I'm Bai Yun (白雲), the word for white cloud." This was how Bai Yun usually introduced himself to his colleagues, and usually everyone had to smile after hearing his introduction.

Bai Yun originally thought that if he was introduced to him in this way, he would also smile, but Bai Yun was wrong. But Bai Yun was wrong. He heard Richard say, "I don't understand what you're saying about white clouds, but I don't understand what you're saying.

Bai Yun smiled surreptitiously, remembering that he was a foreigner, so how could he possibly understand the hidden sounds and pleasures of Chinese characters? But when she heard Richard ask herself this question so seriously, she answered him seriously, "White cloud is a white cloud in the sky, the direct translation in English is white cloud."

"Oh, I see, that's funny, that's a beautiful name, as beautiful as you are." His eyes looked into hers and seemed to radiate a gentle light.

"Thank you." Bai Yun had never heard a man praise her in such a direct manner. She smiled shyly as she felt her heart beat a little differently, especially when it was a man with such affectionate eyes.

"This is delicious, thank you." Richard praised him as he ate the dumplings.

When Bai Yun saw how happy he was to eat a few dollars' worth of dumplings, and how sincerely he thanked her, she felt that the foreigner was quite practical. After eating, Bai Yun said, "I'll take you to a cheap hotel and I'll pay for your accommodation tonight so you don't have to sleep on the streets." Bai Yun took Richard to a guesthouse and paid 60 dollars to settle him down. He offered Bai Yun 20 dollars, but Bai Yun refused. He said, "The dumplings I bought for you cost $5 and the accommodation cost $60. If you really give me $20, if you calculate the exchange rate at least $6, it is still more than $100, so you will lose money, won't you? Besides, I think it's not easy for you, you need money for a lot of things, so I'll treat you today. It's getting late, I should go back, you should rest early."

"Excuse me, I have one more question before you go." Richard paused to explain, "I shouldn't have bothered you when you helped me out today by buying me a meal and paying for my accommodation without charging me. But I really need to get online. I need to contact my friends." Bai Yun helped him find an internet cafe and settled him down.

When he got back to his place, although he was very tired, Bai Yun finally felt more at ease and slept soundly at night. Before I knew it, it was dawn, so I got up, freshened up and went to the hotel for my morning shift. On the way to the hotel, she saw some beggars begging for money, and Bai Yun thought to herself that the world was a sad place with so many poor people. As she thought, she took the change out of her pocket and gave it to the beggar.
