Chapter 13 - Tired

Elenor's pov:

She just ate a delicious lasagne that she made. Y/n was still not home and she was a little worried.

"She is probably still at the meeting." Elenor thought.

She put the rest of the lasagne in the stove and sent a message to Y/n. It was already late, but she wasn't tired at all. She had a good sleep last night, so she probably didn't need to sleep this night at all. The heat in the house was still high. It was in the middle of the hottest month of the year. Elenor made her way to her room and opened a window, to let some cold air in. It was not like she could feel the cold breeze but she still enjoyed the fresh air. The moon was at its peak. She looked at it for a while. It was fascinating to her that the moon influences Y/n and her kind.

"Why do you do this?" She asked. "How can you influence Y/n's emotions so much." She added.

She noticed, that Y/n was angrier and stressed when it was a full moon, but more relaxed and calm when it was a new moon. She was happier and friendlier as well. The closer it gets to the full moon the more negative emotions can be witnessed. Thinking about Y/n made Elenor worried again.

"When will she be back? Stop it. You are making yourself insane. Maybe she is already on her way." She thought.

The fear disappeared and another feeling took its place. Elenor knew since last night that she was in love with Y/n. She wanted to tell her but she was too embarrassed.

"I should flirt with her more and maybe she will notice herself," Elenor mumbled while grabbing a book and planting herself on her bed.

"No, she would be too oblivious, but I could try. It would be funny to see her blush." She thought and chuckled.

She leaned her upper body on the headboard of her bed and started to read.

Y/n's pov:

You arrived at home and were excited to eat something. Food was one of your favorite things and the person who made the food was too, but you would never admit that. You jumped out of your car and made your way to the entrance. The door was locked.

"Well, that is new." You said to yourself.

You never locked the door and so did your wife. You were living in the countryside and were not afraid of robbers or anything.

"She must be still scared." You thought.

You unlocked the door and headed for the kitchen. The food was placed in the stove as promised. You turned it on. There was time for a quick shower until the food was warm. So, you made your way to the bathroom and cleaned yourself. After that, you got back to the kitchen and took the food out of the stove.

"OMG, she made lasagne." You mumbled.

You didn't bother to get a plate, you just ate out of the bowl. It was delicious, like everything Elenor cooked. You ate up everything and washed the bowl. You put it back in the cabinet and yawned. The tiredness just hits you. You made your way up the stairs and noticed that the door to Elenor's room was a little bit open. You could see there was still light.

"Is she still awake? Should I talk to her?" You mumbled.

After you hesitated, you made your way to her door and knocked softly on the wood.

"Come in." You heard her say.

You opened the door and stepped in. She was sitting in her bed with a book in her hand. She flashed you her trademark smile. You were in her room for the first time and looked around nervously. It was very tidy, with a bookshelf and a lot of plants. She had no TV in her room because she usually watched TV in the living room. In front of her bed was a fluffy carpet and a nightstand with a light on it next to her bed. Above her bed were some LED lights.

"Hey." You greeted her.

"Hi." She said and smiled.

"How is your back?" You asked with concern in your voice.

"It doesn't hurt anymore. It will heal. Don't worry." She answered.

You made your way to the bed and sat down on the edge. Elenor looked at you, but you looked at the wall. You fidget with your fingers.

"How was the meeting?" Elenor asked after you hesitated to speak.

She knew that you were sometimes struggling with your words.

"Well, the elders want a second meeting with the leaders of the Vampire clans. So, we can work together against this threat." You said, while your gaze wandered around the room.

You were not able to look at her because you were nervous.

"That is good. Then my parents will attend too. My father will die when he hears what happened to us last night." She said and smiled.

You smiled as well.

"Speaking of attending. The Alpha wants you to be there too. He wants to meet my lovely wife." You said.

Your eyes finally met hers and you saw the soft glow in them.

"Why?" I'm not a clan leader." Elenor asked in confusion.

"Uhm, the Alpha is my grandfather and leader of all packs. I promised him to ask you. He likes Vampires and I guess he just wants to see you. You don't have to go if you don't want to, okay." You explained.

"I love to. Why didn't you say something about you being the Alphas grandchild." She said while slapping your arm a little.

It made you chuckle.

"I thought it was not important." You replied and shrugged your shoulders. "You are sure you want to go. There will be a lot of my kind and not everyone likes Vampires." You added as your gaze drifted back to the wall.

"Yes, I'm sure," Elenor responded.

"Alex and Robin will be there too. So, we have at least two normal people there." You said and smiled.

Elenor chuckled and put her book on the nightstand.

"I'll let you know when and where." You told her.

She nodded. You could feel her gaze on your face.

"What?" Do I have some lasagne left on my face? By the way, it was delicious, thank you." You said.

"No, I just thought you look tired. That's all." She explained quickly.

"I'm not tired." You said but a long yawn proved you wrong.

"Sure." She said with a skeptical look on her face. "You also look like you could use a hug." She added.

"The day was exhausting." You finally gave in.

"Well, I can give you a hug maybe you feel better after it. Who knows?" Elenor said and opened her arms, so she could hold you.

You turned your gaze back to her. She was still sitting with her upper body leaning on the headboard of her bed. Your heart melted when you saw her lovely smile. How could you say no to this cutie pie? You hesitated, but after a few seconds, you gave in and hugged her tightly. She wrapped her arms around your body and you lay your head on her chest. You could smell her perfume. The smell reminded you of spring and lavender. Her scent was lovely. Suddenly you heard the rhythm of her heart. You turned your head a little, so you could hear it properly. It was really slow, just like 20 beats a minute.

"You have a heartbeat? I thought you were dead." You told her in a sarcastic tone, while still listening to her heart.

"Well, as you can hear I'm not and you saw me bleed yesterday." She said.

"True." You realized. "But why is it so slow?" You asked.

"I'm not human, but we have a lot in common. Our heart beats slower because we have a very fast metabolism, but we heal slower than a human. Do you remember what happens, when we stop eating human food?" She asked back.

You looked up from her chest.

"You turn into an ugly corpse, but you don't die." You answered.

"Right. If we stop, our body doesn't have to do digestion anymore and the heart stops. The blood will no longer flow and I would turn into an ugly living corpse." She explained.

You rested your head on her chest again too tired to hold it up any longer.

"I don't want you to turn into a corpse. I like your face." You said with your eyes half closed.

Elenor seemed to notice, that you were sleepy. Her hand started to rub your back softly and you melted under her touch.

"You should rest." She told you and chuckled at your words.

You hummed in response, too tired to move your mouth.

She grabbed her book again and hold it in one hand, with the other she drew random patterns on your back.

"She is so beautiful and lovely." You thought as you drifted into sleep.

Elenor's pov:

She was focused on her book. There was no noise in the room besides Y/n's soft breaths and the sound when she turned a page from time to time. After an hour, Elenor put the book aside and rested her chin on Y/n's head. She turned off the lights as Y/n snuggled more into her body.

"You look so cute. Do you know that?" Elenor said with a soft tone.

Y/n was still fast asleep. Elenor wrapped her arms tighter around the Werewolf girl. Her eyes closed while she listened to Y/n's soft breaths. Without moving a single muscle she held her wife for the whole night. Maybe this was the closest she would ever get to Y/n and Elenor enjoyed it to the fullest.

The next morning:

Elenor's pov:

Y/n's alarm rang. Both were still in the same position. Elenor woke up from her doze first and noticed Y/n was still asleep. She took Y/n's phone out of one of her wife's pockets and turned off the alarm. Y/n was in a state of sleep where nothing could wake her up. it made Elenor smile.

"Hey, you have to wake up and go to work," Elenor said while shaking Y/n's body a little.

Y/n groaned and mumbled something, but didn't wake up.

"HEY, come on. Wake up." Elenor said a little louder than she wanted to.

Y/n shook up and gave Elenor a surprised look.

"Good morning," Elenor said and smiled.

Y/n was still in shock and blushed hard.

"Good morning." She said to Elenor.

"She looks cute when she is sleepy." Elenor thought.

Y/n hair was a mess and her eyes were puffy from sleeping but Elenor thought it was pure cuteness.

"Shouldn't you go to work?" Elenor asked with a soft tone while putting a loose strain behind Y/n's ear.

The Werewolf girl swallowed hard and turned even redder. Elenor handed Y/n her phone back and Y/n looked at the time.

"OMG, I'm gonna be late," Y/n said and jumped out of bed.

Elenor chuckled and stood up too. She had to work too, but later than Y/n, plus her office was at her home.

"Thanks for letting me sleep here, but I need to go," Y/n said while scratching the back of her head.

"It's okay, You were really tired," Elenor replied.

Y/n nodded and left Elenor's room. The Werewolf girl was embarrassed but Elenor thought that it was charming

"She is still embarrassed when I touch her. That is so cute." Elenor thought and started to change her clothes.

Y/n's pov:

You rushed to your room. Your heart was beating fast. Elenor had touched you so many times before, but this time it felt different. It felt better. The way she brushed the hair out of your face did something to you. Butterflies roamed in your belly and you wanted the touch to last longer, but work called. There was no time to put on proper clothing, so you just grabbed the first best hoodie and a pair of black pants. They were laying on a chair and you already have worn them before, but were too lazy to throw them into the laundry basket. As you pulled the hoodie over your head you could feel something in its pocket. You pulled it out. It was the photo of Elenor and her father.

"I must wear the hoodie when Alex helped me move the things down to the basement." You said to yourself.

You put the photo in one of your drawers. It was time to go. You ran down the stairs, grabbed your keys, and jumped in your beloved car.

The same day but in the evening:

Elenor's pov:

Y/n had texted her earlier, that she will bring takeout, so Elenor had nothing to do till her wife would be back. She was already finished with work and decided to watch some Netflix. After one and a half episodes, she heard the door open. She heard her name called out.

"I'm in the living room." She yelled back and put the episode on hold.

Y/n came in with a plastic bag in her hand. Elenor was excited to see her and smiled at her.

"Do you want to watch TV while eating?" Y/n wanted to know.

"Yes, It's thrilling," Elenor replied.

"Can I watch too?" Y/n asked with a shy smile.

"Sure, I would like some company," Elenor said and patted the seat beside her.

Y/n placed the food on the couch table and sat down in front of the couch. Elenor joined her and let the episode continue.

"We are not watching the vampire dairies, right? Otherwise, I'll be out." Y/n said in a sarcastic tone, while she started to eat.

Elenor playfully rolled her eyes.

"No, it's a show called Van Helsing, but it is also about Vampires," Elenor said.

"I will give it a try," Y/n responded.

She was focused on the screen. Both ate in silence, but from time to time Y/n asked some questions about the characters and storyline. After they were finished eating, they watched the episode to the end. Elenor pressed pause again and Y/n started to put the empty food containers in the plastic bag.

"What do you think?" Elenor asked.

"It's a little brutal, but I like the main character. She is cool." Y/n said.

"Although she's a Vampire?" Elenor asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Your kind is not that bad at all, I guess." Y/n responded and looked sheepish on the ground."I mean you are a Vampire as well and I like you too." She added with a quiet voice.

"WHAT? She likes me? OMG. I'm in heaven. HELL YES. " Elenor screamed in her mind. "But she just likes me. Don't give yourself false hope. She will never love me back."

"Are you alright? You look sad. Did I say something wrong?" Y/n asked.

Elenor was snapped out of her thoughts.

"No, no, I just thought about something from work, sorry." Elenor lied.

"Okay, Do you want to watch another episode, then?" Y/n asked in excitement.

"Yes, but let us clean the mess up first and throw the garbage out," Elenor said.

They started to clean everything and after the chores were done they sat down and watched another episode. Elenor covered herself with a blanket. Y/n on the other hand sat on the couch with her feet on the couch table. Her arms were crossed and her eyes were fixed on the screen. Elenor looked at the Werewolf girl from time to time with a dreamy look. After the episode was finished, they decided it was time for bed. They headed upstairs and Elenor said good night, while she walked to her room. She turned around when she heard Y/n's voice.

"Are you sure everything is okay? You looked really sad earlier." She said in a soft voice.

"Yes. I was just a little distracted that was all." Elenor responded and looked at the ground.

She didn't want to lie to Y/n, but she couldn't tell her the truth. She can't tell her that she was in love with her and it hurts. It hurt to be so close to her and yet so far away. Elenor could feel some arms wrapping around her body. She could smell the perfume of Y/n and felt the warmth of the other girl's body.

"You can tell me anything. I don't want you to be sad, okay? If you want to talk, I will be here." Y/n whispered.

Her arms were still around Elenor. The Vampire girl snuggled deeper into Y/n's neck and whispered a thank you.

"Anytime," Y/n said and pulled away.

"Good night," Elenor said again.

"Sleep tight," Y/n responded and got into her room.

Elenor turned around and got to her room. Suddenly she felt lonely. The room felt empty without Y/n. She already missed her.

"Okay, tomorrow I will start to drop some hints that I like her. I mean actually, like her, and with a bit of luck she will get it." Elenor said to herself and climbed into her bed.

She made a plan to make Y/n fall for her. Little did she know Y/n has already fallen for her.
