When Kylie returned to Wilford Ranch, she immediately looked for Nathan. She found him in the hay barn with some of his stablemates. Nathan turned and smiled, as if nothing had happened and Kylie had never sent the message. "Hi, you're home!" he greeted. He was discussing the renovation of the stables and the barn with the stableman, as some parts of the building seemed to have fallen into disrepair.
"Hi," Kylie replied. "Can we talk alone?"
Nathan had expected that. "Sure," she replied. He handed his notebook to one of his employees to continue taking notes. Meanwhile, he motioned for Kylie to follow him. "Where do you want us to talk?"
"As you wish," Kylie replied. Her face was grim and she avoided Nathan's gaze.
