Nine years ago
Reef Davis had no premonition when he woke up that morning. His bedroom, which had been dark, was now illuminated by biases of light from between the windswept window curtains. When he looked at the bed next to him, it was empty and the door was half open. His younger brother, John, who shared the same bedroom with him must have woken up first. There was a faint commotion outside his room. It was John and their younger sister, Piper, fighting over the bathroom.
