It was time to tell Reef about the departure to Dallas. Therefore, Bella dressed up nicely for dinner that night to cover her nervousness. They hadn't fought in a long time. Reef had been quieter lately, and Bella didn't want to be the cause of breaking the peace between them. It had been hard enough for her to combat her lingering guilt towards Reef. She didn't want to be the cause of Reef's emotional outburst like before.
When she came down the stairs, Reef was sitting in the living room. He looked up and smiled widely at Bella. "You're so beautiful," he complimented her with eyes full of admiration. That night, Bella wore a knee-length, spaghetti-sleeved dress that made her body appear more curvy. "Sometimes I forget that you could be even more beautiful if you weren't wearing your writer's clothes."
"Writer's clothes?" Bella looked at Reef with raised eyebrows. "You mean uniforms? I never wear any uniform."
