Bella couldn't wait for Kylie to arrive for lunch at her apartment. She looked nervous as she prepared food in the kitchen. Reef noticed her and was surprised. The climax was when Bella dropped a bowl of salad on the floor.
Hobbling with her cane, Reef approached her. "You look nervous. What's wrong?"
Bella didn't tell Reef how she had heard Nathan Wilford's voice while on the phone with Kylie this morning. And how she'd felt bad about it ever since. Kylie had said nothing but agreed that Nathan was with her. Nathan must have stayed over, Bella thought. Imagining what those two were doing, she felt sick. The thing was, she felt that Nathan had finally managed to ensnare Kylie. Despite the fact that Kylie's arrival was of her own free will-not Bella's persuasion, Bella still felt bad, because after all, she had promised Nathan to help her get close to Kylie. It feels like betraying a friend, Bella thought grimly.
