Chereads / The Son Of The Demon King / Chapter 45 - CHAPTER 44 : PARTY(4)

Chapter 45 - CHAPTER 44 : PARTY(4)

Seated on a tree branch was Chandler, as he looked at the shining moon. It was obvious that something was worrying him right now. But what was the matter??

He just sat there lonely on his birthday party meanwhile he should be enjoying with everyone. Not the kind to like parties and all the like, he preferred being alone in a calm atmosphere as right now. Closing his eyes, he leaned on the tree trunk and flashing in his head were images with were quite blur.

It was obvious what was disturbing him right now. He has been dreaming the same dream endlessly and he was tired of all this. Even as he tried hard to forget about it, it will come back with more force which already irritated him so much.

"Why am I always seeing the same thing every time? Who are they? Are they really my parents as Layla said? Heck no, it can't be, right? Am a Zolritch and my parents are Hansel and Sakura Zolritch, so they can't be me parents."

He was quite conflicted in his thoughts. Not knowing whether to accept Layla's thought or not. It was obvious that he wasn't the child of those people he sees in dream everyday, so why should he be overthinking about it? Why was those images always tormenting him? Why would he always feel like he know them? Why would he have a kind of warm feeling in his chest everytime he dreams of that?

Furthermore, he was always thinking that he wasn't in his place here. He always had that feeling that he wasn't in his state all time here. He always felt that the Zolritch here was not his home but he knew that they were his parents and so he put it at the back of his mind.

"Am quite overthinking about this matter. Maybe I should just ask dad and mum about this so that I would get some clarification. Maybe am just having a trauma or another problem" Thought Chandler with a conflicted mind. All his thinking wasn't that steady right now.

"Nah, I shouldn't do that. Dad might feel bad that am thinking he ain't my parent. I don't really know what to do right now.... Am just aaaaaarrrrrrhhh"

Shouting out loud, this was the only way to calm down his frustration now.

"Aaaaarrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhh"

Letting out another shout, he clenched his fist so hard that it pierced through his palm, blood dripping down his palm and to a green leaf under his hand. It was them that..

*BAAAAMMM*

He hit the tree trunk were he was sitting with his clenched fist, leaving a small dent there.

Back at the large yard were all the individuals were dancing, Layla was worried about Chandler whom she saw that he wasn't all happy ever since and was forcing himself to smile so he would enjoy this evening with them.

Layla has always been so keen eyed when it concerns Chandler. She would always look over him to see whether he was fine or not, behaving like his mom who always did so when he was home. With how caring and she loved Chandler, she never once unnoticed when he was feeling bad or has some worries.

So Layla swiftly ran from her friends and left Anabelle there. Noticing that none of them figured that she ran, she started scouting the area searching for Chandler. After a long time, she went to the back yard and noticed him sitting up an apple tree.

"What's it this time Chandler? You were all smiling earlier but right now you look so down and sad" she asked herself with a worried face.

She then walked over to the apple tree and called him out

"Hey, Chandler can you come and have some time with us, please"

Hearing her plead for his presence, he just sighed and climbed down the tree "I don't wanna do anything again Layla, I'm just so tired now" He lied and sat down leaning on the trunk. Layla just smiled and sat near him. She already felt that he wouldn't talk if she aked his worries but she would just try.

"Ch.. Chandler, what's the matter again? You were just smiling moments ago but you suddenly changed mood like that. You know this is our day and I made this so that you could have fun too, but you are just ruining all that I did. I know that you won't say anything, so I will leave you right now. Just call me when you are ready to talk" Saying so with a sad face, Layla stood up to leave but she felt a hand grab on her wrist stopping her from leaving. She then looked at Chandler who grabbed her hand making her blush and she sat back beside him.

"Am really happy that you did this all for me Layla and it's the best gift I ever received till yet. But am also very sorry that am ruining all that you planned with my behaviour." Said Chandler with a very sad, so that Layla had ever seen till yet.

"What's really the problem with Chandler? I have never seen him like this before, is the matter so pressing for him?" Thought Layla with a worried face. She felt bad inside her heart. It was like her heart was been pierced by a thousand niddles right now.

"But the problem is.... am I really a Zolritch, am I really Chandler Zolritch?? Do I really deserve to carry this name of Zolritch?" Continued Chandler with a sad and calm tone. Hearing him, Layla was confused with the words that left his mouth.

"Who.. What are you saying Chandler? You are Chandler Zolritch, son of Hansel and Sakura Zolritch so you deserve to carry that name" explained Layla trying to answer what he was saying.

What was he talking about? He is the son of Hansel Zolritch and so deserve that name. So what the heck is he saying? It was quite normal for Layla to get confused with this words of his.

"Am asking if I'm really the son of Sir Hansel Zolritch, Layla. Am asking myself if those I see in my dream are not my real parents." Explained Chandler with a sad face. He was so down and that could be seen in his eyes which seem like they were dead.

"What!!?? Why say that Chandler? You are the son of the Great Hansel Zolritch" said Layla still confused why he was saying such. Chandler looked at her with his dead eyes.

"I have a big problem. It's a big shame for a Zolritch, Layla. Can you imagine that I haven't awaken the Zolritch's affinity till yet? It's been two years that have been wondering about it but just couldn't figure out why it is so. My only conclusion is that am not really Zolritch. If my brain doesn't fail me, there has never been a Zolritch who wasn't able to awaken the affinity" Chandler explained with his dead eyes and sad tone. Layla who was listening to all that he said was shocked after hearing just his third sentence. She was like, how is that possible for a Zolritch at this age to not awaken their affinity? Is he kidding her right now? Heck no or he couldn't be feeling so down and sad.

"How is that even possible Chandler? You are a Zolritch and you should have already awaken the affinity, right?" Asked Layla with a worried and confused expression.

'Is that even possible for a Zolritch to not awaken the affinity? No, right? He just said it and no Zolritch ever failed in awakening the affinity, then what is wrong with Chandler?' thought Layla to herself. This was a real shock not just for Chandler but her too.

"So you haven't awaken it since? Then what did your parents say about it Chandler?" Asked Layla expecting a quick response from Chandler. But it took his quite some minutes before he spoke again.

"They didn't say anything about it Layla. My dad just seem nice with me and show no expression of deception towards me and my mum too seems very nice with me" Explained Chandler with his still sad tone. This was just hurting Layla so much that her eyes turned moist and glistening due to the tears forming in them.

Looking at Layla who was beside him by the corner of his eyes, he saw that her eyes were turning moist by the time.

"Layla, you don't have to cry for me. This is our day and you need to enjoy yourself for the time being. You know, you have been that friend that I ever wanted since childhood. I will not forget the moments we spent together and am really happy to have you as friend. I don't like seeing you sad Layla, I rather prefer the smiling Layla so please smile for me"

He said so from the bottom of his heart. All that he said was what he was thinking. He was sincere and never liked to see her sad.

So hearing him, Layla smiled and whipped her tears. He then looked at her as his eyes regained life.

"Hahaha, I prefer you like that Layla. Don't forget to keep smiling at any moment of your life because it rejuvenate me all time I feel down" Said Chandler which made her blush and smile more. She then moved to him and hugged his head on her bossom tightly which surprised him. He just hugged her back by the waist making her blush till her neck.
